Herb Martin was born and raised in the Bronx, NY. Music is his first love and he has been involved with music since the age of five when he attended the Harlem School of the Arts. There he studied Piano and Drama. He also played Drums and formed a band called Prestige. He started spinning at the age of thirteen and has been spinning for over twenty-five years. When he Started spinning, he enjoyed all forms of music but was fascinated by this emerging new art form that was called B-Boy(break beats),which eventually came to be known as Hip-Hop. He played at his first gig in October 1978. As he matured, he attended NY clubs like Broadway International,The T-Connection, the Roxy, the Fun House, and the Paradise Garage (member). It was at these clubs (along with his musical upbringing) where he developed the love for the music that he currently specializes in which is Soulful Dance/House, along with Garage and Loft Classics, and Afrikan & Latin Jazz. He considers DJs such as, Larry Levan, Timmy Regisford, Merlin Bobb, Tee Scoot, Salvino Brown (SBJ), Grand Master Flash and Reggie Wells as major influences in his playing style. He has spun at Clubs, Lofts, Parties & Events all over NYC and beyond. Some of these experiences include: Mars(NYC), Studio 54 (NYC), Bridge Street Loft (Bkn), Afterlife (NYC), The Shelter (NYC), 2Is(NYC), Language (Bkn.), NY Classic House Weekend/WMC(Mia.), Caviar Studios(Bkn) Clubhouse Jamboree(Bkn), The APT (NYC), Sanctuary (DC), Langstons (Bkn), Core (Tokyo, Jap.), Club DEEP (NYC), LOVE (NYC), Bassment (Asahikawa, Jap.), Franks Lounge (Bkn), Sjora (Fukouka, Jap). He has also held residencies at:Turquoise & Madame X and along withDj Kim Lightfoot, founded a party called AMADI. He has worked as a DJ for WBLS, and played on the air for 91.5 WNYE, 98.7 KISS FM, 90.3 WBAU. He is Currently the resident Dj for both Together in Spirit(NYC) and Disco-Party Fundraiser(NYC) and on a good night or morning, Herb can be found doing one of the things he loves most, playing good music for your ears, mind, body and soul!

I think this is the Tom Moulton Mix from 1979, probably the rarest disco record out there. Last time I saw it on Ebay, the 12 inch sold for about 100 US Dollars.
Truly on of the standout songs of the 1970's. The congas are out of this world on this track !
