Most recently I’ve been inspired to start writing songs again by one act in particular. City and Colour the solo project of Alexisonfires Dallas Green showed me that you can write simple stripped down Acoustic music that can captivate and enthrall.
In the past I have embraced all kinds of music from the britpop & indie that I grew up with to Emo, Metal and Pop that I’ve grown to love over the last few years.
Bands: Radiohead, Oasis, Coldplay, Incubus, Atreyu, Rage Against The Machine, City & Colour, The Mars Volta, Boy Hits Car, Damien Rice, Enter Shikari, No Doubt. Heaps more too many to mention!

Here In The Quiet is the solo project of Ewan Waugh an ex member of several Aberdeen bands most notably Girl Said No.
Choosing to focus on my career rather than music I made the tough and brave choice to leave my friends in Girl Said No and put music on hold. Over the last couple of years I've kept my musical skills by playing as and when I can but inspiration from several areas inspired me to start a music project of my own and see if I can still write songs and enjoy creating music.
