Formed in 2006, Here's My Chance clearly has taken influence from the early 2000's resurgence of power-pop and pop-punk. It's evident that bands like Finch, Boxcar Racer, and Dashboard Confessional have informed the band's approach on this EP. I don't think the band would argue that they're creating something truly innovative or original with this EP, yet it's obvious they have higher aspirations. It's quite evident after hearing the opening track "This Life I know" that these guys have great pop sensibilities. Each song pulls you in to the band's world where shimmering guitars, power chord breakdowns, and epic choruses rule the day. Here's My Chance has played with numerous local indie and punk acts, and has shared the stage with notable national acts The Academy Is, A Day to Remember, and Yellowcard. The guys are about to embark on a 48 state tour beginning in April 2009, so you'll have plenty of opportunities to throw on your old Blink 182 shirt and be 17 years old again, if only for one night.
