are a five piece band from Dudley and Wolverhampton
and have been going now for nearly 3 years.
In late 2009 HERESY parted ways with their Guitarist: Jay Roberts.
A replacement was immediately found and the band are now in their
Mark 3 line-up.
Falling under the progressive rock banner, the lads offer true diversity in their sound, ranging from pumping metal tracks to slower rock ballads, all featuring a range of riffs, beats and synths.
Heresy have gigged extensively in some of the top West Midlands venues, including Opening the Main Stage at Glastonbuget. The Civic Hall in Wolverhampton, The Barfly and The Rainbow in Birmingham and JB's in Dudley, the Shed in Leicester.
Heresy aim to gig as much as possible and promote their 13 track demo album, and there new tracks for 2010.

Review-: to HERESY in Power Play Magazine Sept 2009
Words By: Chris Van Souwe, HERESY Album Review
The standout track on the album by a considerable margin is "Beyond ALL Reason" a two movement piece comprising a lengthy Floyd inspired intro, with the main body of the song falling into Kamelot or Dream Theater territory, a well structured composition. All things considered the album shows promise and I'll be interested to hear how future releases compare. 5/10
Review-: HERESY at the Old Wharf in Digbeth B'ham

Next up was West Midland Band: Heresy.
I’d been hearing good things on the circuit about these guys, so was eager to see them.
Describing themselves as a progressive rock band, Heresy, provide a tight set with well structured songs, which make the most of the bands talents. It’s great to see a young rock band not afraid to use keyboards as a main driving force in their song writing and performing. I think too many people think you’re gonna get Nightwish style operatic rock when they see the keyboards come out, but no these guys use them to great effect.
They also have that magic ingredient, stage presence. Front man Rob Harris holds his 50’s style mic like it’s his lover and projects an aura of confidence and some may say cockiness but for me that’s a key thing for a front man to have.
Review-: to HERESY for Robin Show 2009
Just to thank you for a totally professional show yesterday top class!
I'm sure you boys will go far. I don’t have a lot to offer this year except support but would be happy to put in a headline for 2010.
Kind Regards
Mike Hamblett (Owner)
Review-: to HERESY for Glastonbuget Show 2009

By mid-day the main site is starting to fill with people and it is the original band stage that actually starts first, but has its thunder somewhat stolen by a surprise substitution on the main stage.
Instead of the billed “Blurb” (tribute to Blur) there is instead HERESY, West Midlands based metal band fronted by the charismatic Rob Harris. The songs are of a heavy metal style, and in another setting might have been misplaced but on the large stage they were enough hooks to get the crowd going.
Review-: to HERESY for Custard Factory Show 2009
Words By: Stephen Hudyba (Music Journalist)
One of the standout Progressive Metal acts, Heresy cranked up the intensity for an even more impressive effort than when I saw them at The Rainbow.
Progressive Metal complete with winding solos, heavy riffs, tight beats and atmospheric keys and synths, with the synths providing the perfect bed for some excellent guitar work (especially some first-rate solos) and Rob’s distinctive rock vocal ties it all together, they’ve got a great sound, a well developed identity and an ever growing legion of loyal, chanting fans.
It should come as no surprise that they were one of the most popular acts of the evening, even those new to their music couldn’t help but be won over by their engaging, charismatic stage presence and by the sheer quality of their material. There is an exciting, progressive edge to their sound which at times almost borders on experimental (a clear reflection of the innovation they bring to whatis an often stale genre of music), they are clearly a talented band and have got some real potential.

Just read the blog about Rob's ankle - ouch! I really hope it mends as soon as possible. Are you seriously gonna carry on doing gigs on crutches?! You're mad! You gotta get some photos up here of that, though... lol.
Look after yourselves, glad to see you're so busy gigging and I did notice that date in Texas - awesome!
Hopefully we'll be able to catch up again soon.... Helen. x x
Please check out Evil Masquerade's main page to hear some songs from the new album - Fade To Black. Also, guitarist Henrik Flyman on tour with Lacrimosa!
Thanks very much for playing for us on Saturday night and for the kind words. We're pleased you enjoyed it as much as we did. Your energetic, powerful performance impressed many. I'm sending you a message right now for a future booking. Cheers for the cd, looking forward to listening to it.
