Her Fearless Heart was created after a depressing night locked in a bathroom with a blade. Cuts were too deep and a thought process began to occur. “I don’t want to hurt anymore”. That night, i created a myspace page to tell a story; a site aimed at ending the suffering. All across the world there are people suffering from abuse, depression, suicide, and addiction. Some of these people have the support of friends, family or counsellors, but many more are struggling alone. Wrestling with the decisions of who to tell, how much to tell and what will happen if i do?, a lot of people keep their problems to themselves and ultimately fall into the darkness. Sometimes people do choose to tell their story, but unfortunately there is not a lot of understanding of problems such as self harm or eating disorders so their voices go unheard, pushed aside or ignored completely. People have been struggling alone for too long and i believe it's about time we raised awareness of these issues. A lot of people may know of those who are suffering, but how many of them can honestly say they understand what they are going through or why they do what they do? This is our chance to educate and spread the knowledge. We will do this through the use of stories. A friend of mine recently said she never understood why i self harm, but after reading through my blogs she was opened up to a new world of understanding. It's not easy to answer the question "why?", but through the use of stories, we are able to give others an insight into our lives and they are able to see for themselves what it's like to be us, to feel the pain that we do. Through our stories, we are also able to offer hope; hope to the broken, hope to the struggling, and hope to the suffering. Sharing stories shows others that they are not alone; that "i too have been where you are". Together we can lend a hand to other people by showing them that there is LOVE and hope everywhere. Make your story count. Help to make a difference. Help to spread awareness. We are all connected as human beings, our stories all relate. Let's join them and save lives. Here's your chance. Share the story.....

Why is it that people determine life experience by the amount of years you have been breathing? I determine life experience by the amount of experiences you have endeavored through. Who says that just because you're 30 years old you're suddenly an expert on the difficult times? I know that i personally have been through a lot in my life and have a lot of knowledge as to what works and what doesn't when pain and suffering comes into the equation. I know i'm not a professional counsellor, although one day i hope to be. It is also a goal of mine to work alongside TWLOHA themselves and help out as many people as i can, cause i know that pain is out there and it hurts without LOVE. If anyone needs to talk, don't be afraid to talk to me, sometimes it helps to talk to a stranger. If i can't help you there are other people, professionals, that could give your story an ear :)

Photobucket …It's hard for me to recall where I was then, timelines, sequence of events, details…they all blur together for me. I do remember that I was used and abused, willingly and wrongfully, then tossed aside. If He, or She, wasn't hurting me, then I was. I had taken all of my insecurities and allowed everyone and anyone to reinforce the thoughts and names I had given myself. I longed for justice, for redemption, but it was such a foreign concept… I look at my life now, at the wounds that have healed, and the scars left behind, and I realize how far I have come in the past few years. Today I don't view myself as devalued, I am not "leftovers" for someone to pick through. I have fought to value myself, first and foremost, and in turn, have learned how to value others as well. For whatever reason, I have this odd analogy in my head, a picture of the girl that was, and the girl that is becoming.

"You need to know that rescue is possible, that freedom is possible, that God is still in the business of redemption. We're seeing it happen. We're seeing lives change as people get the help they need. People sitting across from a counselor for the first time. People stepping into treatment. In desperate moments, people calling a suicide hotline. We know that the first step to recovery is the hardest to take. We want to say here that it's worth it, that your life is worth fighting for, that it's possible to change."
