2009 promises to be a year of building on herMajesty’s 2008 success. We appeared on FOX 5 TV, performed at some of New York City’s favorite stages (Mercury Lounge, Arlene Grocery, Luna Lounge, etc.), and received airplay on KEXP courtesy of Troy the DJ who proclaimed love for “All This Beauty”. Furthermore, we were delighted to be chosen as CMJ/Sonic Bids Spotlight Artist and glow stick giddy when DJ Lynnwood’s “Flying High” remix of “Across the Rooftops” made it to the No. 5 Breakout Track on Billboard Hot Dance Club Play Chart.
Since the release of our 2007 EP, AND NOW THIS…, we’ve written several new songs. Inspiration has come about in unexpected ways: a stroll through Central Park, in the fall, as daylight slips away, the separation and reunification with loved ones, the wonder and awe of Victoria Falls, the miraculous rediscovery of the discovered. Plans are in the works to return to the recording studio with producer, friend, and wine connoisseur, Nic Hard. We promise you cannot go wrong with his New Zealand Shiraz recommendations and daft arrangements.
Until then, herMajesty is hard at work mixing several tracks, recorded live at Mercury Lounge, with our favorite sound maestro and guru, Freddie Katz. These recordings capture the intensity of the band’s gripping live shows and will become available in the upcoming months. Release details will be posted on Myspace, Facebook, Reverb Nation, etc. Play them! Share them! Live with them! Mix them! Ringtone them! …. as you please.
So keep your ears tuned and eyes in focus for our upcoming releases, performances, and events.
