About me:
Welcome to my musician profile page on MySpace; As a violinist I do play in broad areas of performing music, such as; Jazz, Rock, Flamenco and World Music; I am a member of the "Metropole Orkest" (presently with Vince Mendoza as our artistic chief; go to a concert whenever you can & find our CD's; we shared the stage with Herbie Hancock, Gino Vanelli, Steve Vai, Elvis Costello to name a few..). As a "wingman" and soloist I play for several artists; such as with saxofonist Paul van Kemenade (North Sea Jazzfestival 2006, hear also the album "Freeze" with the MO); in 2006 a project is formed called "Strings Get Wings" with string quartet members from 4 European nations; Pierre Blanchard (France), Benni von Gutzeit (Germany) & Annie Tangberg (Norway); with the guitarist/composer Mike Keneally (Paradiso Amsterdam 2005, Haarlem 2006, hear also the album "The Universe Will Provide" with the MO); with guitarist/composer Lex Bolderdijk ("East West" is the name of the group; our CD "Call on the Sun" is downloadable at iTunes; type Lex Bolderdijk in the searchscreen at iTunes Store); with composer/pianist Leatitia van Krieken in her "Big Bang" collective, a 13-member jazz group including a string quartet; with guitarist/composer Marc van Vugt's "Big Bizar Habit" (see line up in my blog); with Martin Fondse "Starvinsky Orkestar" (see line up in my blog); with Flamenco guitarist Maurice Leenaars (concerts in Afrika, several editions of the Festival Mundial); Incidentally I arrange and write music for others, and work out compositions for own present and future projects. Presently I have a CD in production featuring the jazzgroup "Iris" with some of my tunes, featuring also pianoplayer Jeroen van Vliet and drummer Pascal Vermeer, bassplayer Gerard Brohm and tenorsaxfonist Henk Koekkoek . As a studio musician I play for various artists's CD productions.
