I knew you were awesome and all, but I'd forgotten just how awesome till today. Who else would gush with me over films, bitch about dumb literature girls + extol the virtues of NARS' rubbery packaging? Also notice how I'm Myspacing you and not Facebooking? God I hate Facebook, I don't know how people put up with it...x

I miss you times a billion, it's been too long. I finish class at 12 on Wednesday, I'm going to head down and visit parents, but would you be free around then for lunch? How does Don Dons sound? I could be there around 12:20?
I'm very excited for you about Mexico, slowly making plans myself for my grand escape from Australia sometime next year.
The sickness sucked, but it was worth sticking it out in order to feel a little more free. Maybe I sound vague, I'll explain when I see you.
I would be more profound right now but I can't, my eyelids are aching slightly and maybe even swelling up and I sure hope it's got nothing to do with the water-throwing incident. Let me know about Wednesday, save me from blingee and my squid abortion xo!

So good to hear from you, although it sounds like things have been tough...

I love your comment, but I might have to delete it, so the Myspace community doesn't read it and think I'm involved in any criminal activity. Just in case mother and father pass by Myspace.

I miss you too and would love to see you soon but our plans seem to collide this week. I'm at home tomorrow but I'll be frantically writing an essay, Thursday is busy, Friday and weekend will be GAY practice and debauchery and piecing my psyche back together afterwards. Want to make plans in advance for next week? Let me know when you guys are free. Can't wait to hear about books and films and Mexico plans xoxo

Don't know if you've seen Le Mepris (Contempt) by Godard, but Chanel does a really bad "homage" to it in this ad. Hate it.

Coffee next week sounds fab.
Did you search her or just stumble across her? I'm pretty sure her name is 'Polona'!
Did you end up getting my txt? I'm confused as to which of your numbers to use.

I won two tickets to see Death in Brunswick at ACMI this weekend.

I'm digging this pattern of winning things.

I miss you, worried you're miserable, can't wait till you get back - if you're back In time and not too jetlagged want to see the film with me? xoxoxo

Hello Sweetpea,

I'm not terribly fussed by what people call me. I'll pretty much answer to anything from 'hey you' to something more specific...as long as it's nothing TOO derrogatory (although I have been know to answer to 'oi slag' on occassion). :)

I am indeed ensuring that our fair city doesn't go into disarray without your lovely presence. Hopefully it will be as you remember it when you return--to my knowledge Melbourne hasn't been taken over by flesh eating aliens or conquered by vikings whilst you were away...so you should manage to fit back in quite easily, without the cumbersome need to buy a jet pack/learn to how to steer a longship and appreciate horned headwear. I'm so sorry that your time in HK has been such a trial, it sounds truly gastly. But I guess even if all you get out of the trip is the firm resolve to never go back, then at least it has been productive in some sense.

I am good---SO not wanting to go back to uni, but good nonetheless. Though I think my latest addiction is going to be yum cha and my sources inform me that you are quite the small-food-in-bamboo-basket fiend also.SO we must go when you return! In any case, I hope the flight back is uneventful and that we rendezvous soon so that you can debrief about your various ordeals.

Until then my sweet,

M
xoxo

I appreciate you saying that. I..m in a point of being unsure of how many friends I actually have left after such absence.

What was this I facebook skimmed about you being overseas? Whats the word with that?

And while we..re at it, whats news in general?

Are you feeling rotund from stuffing your face with cheap HK food? You'll sweat it all out, don't fret, you are definitely NOT a fatty. I wouldn't be your friend if you were.

And don't worry about your Cantonese. Think of all those HKers out there with their twisted honky sounding Mandarin. Think of assimilated dickheads like me who speak their own made up pidgin Cantonese/English hybrid.

I won a double pass to see Cashback from Is Not Magazine, coooool huh.

Check my Youtube for lovely Patrick Wolf videos.

Take care and have fun, there's too much stuff to do to be homesick! xoxo

You're leaving tomorrow! It's going to be SO hot over there, sweaty like my sopping wet loins.

I'm feeling so ADD, possibly even ADHD over Patrick Wolf, I will attempt some shithouse quality camera footage.

Have fun...work the room like a pro...keep safe xoxo

Jun 30 2007 7:56 AM

I'll put forth a tentative "yes" for Monday. I'm really behind on classwork because of being sick. I thought that a trip into town, basking under the flattering glow of David Jones would give me some energy. Instead I was blowing blood-riddled snot into a sodden tissue, smearing blood all over my face in the process, and sort of feeling like I was about to pass out any minute. So we'll see how I feel Monday, and how much work I've got. I'm a bad cinephiliac, I want Blades of Glory. And I've always prided myself in how much I dislike Will FERAL.
Yes I think I will email Felicity. Maybe we can write a joint email to be extra creepy. xoxo

"still reeling from the 16mm disasters with Chelsea Girls"

WORST UNINTENDED PUN IN THE WORLD.

I just had to make a note of it, in case you read it and thought I was trying to be funny or something. x

Jun 29 2007 2:14 PM

I hadn't been to Screen Affect in awhile, and I just discovered it's private now...I really want to read it, I've completely renewed my interested in all those filmmakers...still reeling from the 16mm disasters with Chelsea Girls. You know those little pieces of new knowledge, sights and sounds that completely change your worldview and your sense of self as an analyst/theorist/spectator? All those films had that effect on me, I NEED that blog!

When do you head off to HK? I got so sick after we had dinner, I am really infectious and unwell, must get better soon so we can see each other before you leave. I'm brimming with envy imagining you getting all Sasa and Bonjour crazy. Love Daphne

By the way, yes totally add Toby as a friend, so far he's only got me and that pesky Tom. The apartment is quiet, it's begging for a constant stream of visitors...I just got home. My head feels like it's being bricked in, I had a weird night out. Will invariably ramble on about it when I see you. There was something else I was meant to say but I feel too retarded to remember. xo

I'm having coffee with a friend at 3, so how does 6 sound, and then dinner and rambling conversation afterwards? Where are we seeing it? x
