Brian Fausett (guitar and vocals), Kevin Keim (drums) and Samantha Donen (bass and vocals) were VON HEXEN. Their sets ranged from instrumentals- surf, spy music, film noir, and eastern European influences- to rock sets that drew on blues, polka, gospel, punk, and swing. The effect created an atmosphere that moved audiences to dance their asses off, get up on tables and bars, and all that good kind of mayhem.
They recorded at Walden 3 Studios with engineer and producer Jason McMillen in February 2009. "There is a darkness and emotional quality to the EP that triggers images of a dangerous seduction for me, " said Scott Thomas (screen writer). Chris Barber (Pop Sweatshop Records, The Velvet Elvis, Mama) raved about VON HEXEN's new EP. Barber said," The recording quality sounds like early Elektra Records, as if Queens of The Stone Age recorded an album in '67."
VON HEXEN's musical prowess shined on their single "SUFFER" that is currently on Barber's popsweatshop.com site for download.
But now, Hexen has become Denvers newest, most exciting two-piece power-duo, as our dear Samantha has moved on to greener pastures. Our time together was truly amazing!
