Hey Big Aki are currently in the process of recording enough songs for an EP, including lots of new material. They have also been blessed by an addition to their extended family, so have been taking a break from playing shows for a while. But they'll be back soon.
One day three school friends decided to form half a band. They had no drummer, they had no singer but they persevered until they randomly met a guy named Rizwan. By their powers combined, I AM CAPTAIN PLANET.
Adam, Dilhan, Maggy and Rizwan all struggle with science degrees (of both the real and applied varieties) at Sydney University. Some hold down casual jobs on the side too, but others are too lazy for that. Nevertheless each week they find the time to jam at Rizwan’s place in the middle of nowhere - Seven Hills.
They recently played their first show, during which personalities were reversed, men's underwear was thrown (at Rizwan), and a staged (though still very much appreciated) standing ovation was given. They hope to play more shows before the end of the year if uni doesn't get in the way.
Yet there is still so much that is unresolved. Will this bio ever be updated? Will Adam learn to drive or will he continue to scab lifts off everyone else? Will Maggy stop thinking about food? Will Dilhan’s rants ever be taken seriously? Will they make a song that Rizwan doesn’t end up hating two weeks later? Will Rizwan start using a pick like a proper guitarist? Will Rizwan ever wash his hair? For the answer to these and other important questions, stay tuned.
Last time I visited your page, my internet didn't let me listen to any of your music.. so only now do I finally know what you guys sound like! And it's lovely!
