"Sexy roots swagger with populist fire." –The Boston Globe
Originally a powerhouse duo, Avi & Celia found an outlet, literally, and have plugged into Hey Mama, a contemporary rock n’ roll band. The ever evolving, Avi & Celia have been a professional band since 2005. They have released two captivating records; Let it Rise (2008) and Off the Floor (2007), have played over 400 shows, building a loyal fan base and have received acclaim from Yankee Magazine, the Boston Globe, and NHPR.
Hey Mama features Avi & Celia with Jared Seabrook and Ben Kogan on drums and bass. The rock & roll vibe of the band explores the groups deep influence in blues and roots-country music. Avi Salloway and Celia Woodsmith hold a special chemistry both with song writing and performing that is accentuated by the talents of Seabrook and Kogan.
Summer 09’ the band rocked a 40-date summer tour of festivals and club dates in the Northeast and Canada. Their self-titled album “Hey Mama” is being released in December 2009. The album was recorded with Grammy nominated producer Jack Gauthier at Lakewest Recording. Wheels are turning and snowballs are rolling. Hey Mama!

After spending the last month driving 4000 miles around the southwest, I arrived back in Los Angeles to discover that my new album 'Anitya' has been released. Its currently available on amazon, napster and emusic...or you can listen to most of streaming for free on reverbnation.com/tullymackaytisbert. If you enjoy it I for sure appreciate the support. The album is 10 songs that involve the idea of anitya in Buddhism that all things are impermanent. The album is acoustic folk rock that also integrates traditional east asian sounds and uses the chinese lute the pipa. Thank you for listening!
