“The Dangerous Science of Young Gentlemen,”
Featuring new works by Alexander p. E .
DIY Gallery is pleased to present “The Dangerous Science of Young Gentlemen,” featuring new works by Alexander p. E . Through written text, spoken word, and found object sculpture, Alexander produces a radical critique of historical and modern culture, rejecting dominant trends of commodification and detachment. Instead, the artist rearranges the banal objects of everyday life into forms vibrant with theory and thought. What results is a snapshot of history quite unlike what you may have been taught – and a glimpse of the future, shaped by freedom and the creative will.
“The Dangerous Science of Young Gentlemen” opens Saturday, June 28th with a reception from 7-11 P.M.
1218 W Temple Street, 90026

Little Utopia

DIYGAllery Hours:
Wednesday - Saturday 12 - 6 pm

Little Utopia Closing Reception - Saturday June 14
7-11 p.m.

DIY Gallery is pleased to present “Little Utopia,” a
new installation by Chris Avitable, James Fish, and
Mario Richeda. Combining collage, painting, sound, and
sculpture furniture, the artists share a vision of
Utopia / Dystopia. Drawing inspiration from
literature, sci-fi movies and music, this exhibit
makes an effort to redefine a contemporary vision of
Utopia. In this “perfect world” functionality meets
simplicity, and mutates the familiar everyday
surroundings. The result is more than just perfect.
Come dream with us…if only for a little while.
