There are two tales of the Delaware-born, Philly-honed producer/MC known as Hezekiah. For critics like OkayPlayer and Pitchfork, Hezekiah has been for the last five years a beloved underground darling of progressive hip hop, one well known for his soul-searching lyricism and panaromic hip hop soul productions for artists like Bilal, Bahamadia, Zap Mama, Musiq Soulchild, Eric Roberson and Jaguar Wright. For artists, Hezekiah the MC is a cautionary tale of greatness hampered by unforeseen label woes on both the debut of his 2005 cult classic, Hurry Up and Wait (SoulSpazm), and I Predict A Riot (Rawkus), named by AllMusic.com as one of their favorite "Hip Hop Albums of 2007." Now, Hezekiah is writing a new, more self-determined tale with the summer 2010 birth of his third Godchild, Conscious Porn. With siren talents like Bilal, Phonte, Mos Def, Bahamadia, and Cody Chesnutt serving as a Greek chorus to strong narrative productions helmed by Stevie McKie (Jill Scott, Estelle), Street Orchestra (Baby Blak, Eshon Burgundy), and with the man himself, Hezekiah is readying for a bestseller, one all his own.

Question: What do you get when you mix a Delaware-raised former choirboy and preteen Funk singer with a diehard DIY Hip Hop head who cites country music, Quincy Jones and Kool G. Rap as influences in the same breath?

Answer: One of the dopest Emcees-slash-producers-slash-singers-slash-guitar players-slash-songwriters that you've never heard. You can call him Hezekiah.

getting up with the Legendary Roots Crew in '93 that spurred him to get down to business. He began to work his way up through the ranks of the Phillys ever-strong Hip Hop scene with his on point wordplay, superior songwriting, and lovely production skillsworking with the likes of Musiq Soulchild, santo gold, freeway,Bilal, The Jazzyfatnastees, the roots Bahamadia and much more .

Fast forward to 2005, and Hezekiah's finished his debut albumHurry Up And Wait (a title dedicated to the woes of the independent artist), is dropping on New York's Soulspazm Records. (with notable exceptions coming from Illmind and Anthony Accurate) with Hezekiah flowing beautifully atop it every second of the way. And although the record is intended to let Hezekiah shine, the guestlist is impressiveBahamadia, Scratch (The Roots), Grand Agent and Santi White (aka santo gold) all make appearances. This is an album intended for headphones, getting deep tissue massages, and eating fruit smorgasbords at duskstraight up.

In addition 2007 hezekiah release his soft-more album entitled (i predict a riot) on rawkus/soulspazm feat bilal, jaguar wright , freeway and more along with world wide support and a strong following hezekiah is here to stay new album (conscious porn) due to release 2009 Hezekiah managing to keep himself busy, working on albums for Philadelphia singer Aaron Livingston and Musiq's , Aaries, , trax for j live Zap mamma,bahamadia , mr.complex & pharo monch ,eric roberson, In addition, he's the driving force behind Beat Society, an open forum and club night that focuses on putting Hip Hop producers center stage, and has recently been tapped to co-produce the music for a Showtime original series, Street Time. And he also juggles mountain lions. Seriously.
