Interests

  • General

I love life. Not like the whole partying, sex, drugs, and rock n roll type of deal. I should clearify, I guess. I love nature and existence. I'm a science nerd, and however dumb I may actually be because I never remember anything, I love it. I love experiencing nature and weather. Except snow, gotta tell ya, I'm pretty damn sick of snow at this point. But also I love to be entertained. I like watching TV and movies or listening to music hours upon hours. What guy doesn't like sports either? I find it weird that I'm entirely in love with volleyball yet I never play anymore. When I get to a coast someone needs to hit me up and we'll play on the beach. I love football and baseball as well. Where ever I may go, a Phillies fan I'll always be. Same goes with the Dolphins. Hey, how much do you think it'd take to buy a part of the Dolphins? I want like 1% ownership. Maybe even 0.5%, just so I can say, "Hey, Chris Smith, co-owner of the Miami Dolphins." But other than that I'm pretty normal, I play a lot of video games, sometimes more than my own good. But it's life. Maybe I'll grow out of it, maybe I won't. Who knows?
  • Music

Pretty straight forward here, I really dig the Foo Fighters, Blink-182, Kings of Leon, Killswitch Engage, Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphys, The Killers, and a bunch of others. But this short list is usually the most I listen to. They're the bands that I'll listen to continuously and now have to worry about a crappy song to change or skip.
  • Movies

I'm a fan of film in general. It doesn't matter what I watch, I just love to watch and see what different writers and directors do to create a film. If you take the time to sit down and watch originals and remakes and see the differences in what they've done, it's really cool. As for my favorites, I'll have to roll with Clerks (and the ENTIRE View Askewniverse leading up to Zack & Miri), Star Wars & Indiana Jones of course. I really dug the Resident Evil movies, along with the National Treasure ones. Run, Fatboy, Run and the rest of Simon Pegg's movies were amazing. The whole Seth Rogen/Judd Apatow run is simply phenomenal. I just saw Role Models too with Paul Rudd and that's probably one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. Uhh, can't really put a finger on many more that are my true favorites. I've listed a bunch. But I'm sure I'll update this soon.
  • Television

I always tell my friends to stop telling me to watch shows. I'm terrible with times because I never look at the clock. I'm still on season one of Heroes and Chuck here people, come on! But as for my favorites I'll give you a little list here: Ghost Hunters, Scrubs, Reaper, The Office (do I have to rep Scranton? Yes!), Phillies on the CW, Chuck, Attack of the Show, Family Guy, Futurama, Simpsons, Friends, Seinfeld, That 70s Show, and a few more.
  • Books

I pretty much stick to a mainly graphic novel diet. I do read actual books, but only if they really captivate me. I have a rule that if a book doesn't hold my interest in the first 100 pages, I drop it. Usually the books I read at 500+ pages. But I really like "The Long Halloween" (Batman), all Green Lantern, Kevin Smith's books, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Dreamcatcher, The Giver, I still have the Sword of Truth series to start. And then there's a bunch of history books I read, but never buy. I'll go to Border's or whatever bookstore I'm closest too and just pull out a Civil War book and just sit down and read some pages. It's my idea of fun, okay!?

About me:

Christopher Smith Photography

My name is Chris. I'm a 21-year old freelance photographer and writer. If you're looking to hire me for a few shots, please feel free to send me a message here and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. I'm also a student at Full Sail University majoring in Entertainment Business in pursuit of fulfilling my dream. I've always loved writing and photography, but my main dream has been to become a director and producer in movies. I love every aspect of it and I'm really excited for the future and what it holds. At this pace, I'll have my Bachelor's degree in 2011 and then I'll take it from there. Aside from school and work I thoroughly enjoy playing video games such as Madden, Rock Band, and Call of Duty. I'm an avid World of Warcraft player. If you play too, feel free to add me. I play on Blood Furnace mostly. But back in the real world, I've become somewhat of a workout nut. I don't feel right if I can't be active. I rarely enjoy sitting still. This '09 summer I took mountain biking back up. My highlight was in August, making it to the top of Minnewaska State Park in New York. The views at the certain parking points were simply beautiful. I can't wait to go back. I'm a simple man, if you couldn't tell. It doesn't take all that much to please me. I love watching football and seeing my Miami Dolphins win. Also, I love board games. My current favorite is one called Settlers of Catan. I should really say that I'm addicted to strategy games. It's one game that you see a mix of emotions at and still love the family you play with. So if you're looking to get to know me, please feel free to comment me. Also, if you really are looking to get some shots done, I'm looking to take some. I'm always interested in getting some shoots in as I'm still learning on photo shoots with people as I make the transition from nature to portraits. I'm not a hot ticket, so my prices are extremely reasonable. So as I mentioned, just send me a message and I'm great at responding quickly.

Who I'd like to meet:

I always wondered if this was one of those "...if you could have dinner with 5 people alive or dead, who'd it be?" So I'm just going to answer it that way. Let's see here, gotta rock some Abe Lincoln as one. Dan "The Man" Marino as another cause if anybody knows, I'm a Dolphins fan. Kevin Smith just to be a fanboy and tell him he shares the same name as my own father. Then we'll get some Edgar Wright and Michael Jordan. A well rounded cast for dinner, is Jon Favreau going to host the show?
