   HIDE_AND_CREEP's Blurbs
About me:
"In the tiny town of Thorsby, Alabama, the dead begin rising from their pine boxes and feeding on the locals. As the law enforcement is out of town, the local video store clerk joins with the sheriff's secretary, a retired deputy, and the single G-man dispatched to the site. Together they arm themselves with all the weapons and farm tools possible and unleash a healthy dose of Southern justice on the army of the living dead."

So reads the back cover of the HIDE AND CREEP DVD. The Asylum, the company that was kind enough to release the movie on home video in July of 2005, kind of dances around the fact that the movie is supposed to be funny. Most of the good press the flick has gotten have picked up on the comedy, though.

David Cornelius, writing for EFilmCritic.com, says HIDE AND CREEP "is a zombie comedy overflowing with wit." Steve Anderson, "The Video Store Guy," says "It's funny, it's bloody, it's violent, it's even a bit of social commentary, it's pretty much everything you could want in a zombie movie."

You can read more reviews and see pictures and trailers for HIDE AND CREEP at HideAndCreep.com. The movie is available for rental at Blockbuster and Hollywood Video stores in the U.S. and Canada and is available for sale at several online outlets, including Amazon.com.
Who I'd like to meet:
Fans of comedy movies, horror movies, and "B" movies.

The Exhibit(s) are one of Birmingham's most un-heralded bands. Featuring the fernetic fretwork of Eric McGinty --one of Birmingham's best, if not most inventive, guitarists -- multi-instrumentalist Carlos Pino, drummer Chance Shirley and bassist Ken McCrackin, The Exhibit(s) don't fill an easy niche -- perhaps for this reason, they rarely (an inexplicably) end up on a lot of local indie rock bills. Instead, they enjoy a poular residency at Bailey's where they can keep a crowd dancing for hours with both McGinty's urgent original compositions and manic covers generously re-interpreted in the bands' image.

But don't let their homebase fool you: The Exhibit(s) are neither a cover band or purveyors of hippy scuzz. Rather they are a rock and roll perpetual motion machine that, when left to it's own devices (and a long night of drinking), will whirl you into a slack-jawed dervish. Given forty-five minutes, though, thier focused energy will penetrate, mesmerize and leave you begging for more. Imagine "Hail To The Theif" Radiohead scoring a Romero-inspired horror-hick-flick and you might get the idea. Oh: Chris Thile of Nickle Creek this Sunday at Vulcan After Tunes. Thile, as you may or may not know, could be McGinty's bluegrass-infused doppelgaenger -- a mandolin madman known for a taking chances of his own. Needless to say this double-bill is gonna bring the fastest-fingers you've seen all week.

It's also gonna be a gorgeous day to hang out in Vulcan Park (sunny, high of 79 degrees), so bring a blanket, a few friends, have a few beers and bask in the dazzle. The park opens at 1:00, show starts at 2:45, and admission a mere $6 ($4 if you have a Blcak and White card).

Hope to see you out.

Oh and check out The Exhibit(s) new record:

You have our undying love, literal in the sense of undying.
If you notice, our rythm guitarist even adopted his name from your movie.
We're actually working on a song paying homage to Hide and Creep right now.
