Une pratique continue de la batterie depuis l’âge de 14 ans a permis à "Hidé" de développer son approche personnelle au contact de musiques et de feelings différents, du punk-rock au free en passant par le blues, le rock polymorphe et une grande partie de l’histoire du jazz. Depuis septembre 2004, Hidéhiko a donné plusieurs concerts remarqués à la tête de son quartet. Un an plus tard, le quartet remporte les « Trophées du Sunside 2005» au titre des meilleures compositions. Cette formation a été aussi sélectionnée pour participer au RéZZo 2006 de Jazz à Vienne (photos: http://www.citizenjazz.com/article3458719.html) En janvier 2006, en plus de ses activités de musicien, de compositeur et d’enseignant, Hidéhiko Kan s’investit dans l’association Jazz France Japon (http://jfjzen.free.fr/). Living in Bagneux, France. Playing drums since he is 14 years old, "Hidé" developed his own style playing different kinds of music and feels, from punk-rock to free-jazz, to the blues and all major styles of jazz history. Since september 2004, Hidéhiko played several appraised concerts in Paris leading his cool-bop quartet with Max Mastella on guitar, Julien Alour on trumpet and Clément Landais on double-bass. In september 2005, the quartet welcomes Jean-Paul Adam on saxophone to replace Julien Alour, and wins the "Trophées du Sunside" (Paris jazz-club Sunside's Trophy for up & coming artists) first prize for "Best compositions". That same band was also selected to attend "ReZZo 2006" concerts in the famed "Jazz à Vienne" festival.
