Turin 1980:
Roy Morris born from the chameleonic spirit of Fabio Lombardo.
Well known in the
past under various names such as Deejay K.O., Mellow Boy, Hi-Fx, HFM is back now
with Roy Morris artistic name.
Roy get in the electronic experimental music and
dance-floor atmosphere, anyway he creates his productions with different music
style.
Roy was always inspired by the electronic music in all his aspects, he wishes to
be a dj/producer since he was a child, he starts to move his first steps in the
music production at the age of 16, when he starts to use a simple studio with a
Roland R8 and a tape multitracks recorder.
In 1999 with a sampler Roland DJ70, he goes further.
After one year about, he
starts to work with the computer music, getting the knowledge of all the mainly
programs and sequencer starts to move his firsts steps as a computer music
producer.
At the age of 21, he participated to “XS IV TDK” with a track called “Mente
Elettronica” that has been selected and broadcasted on Radio Italia Network.
After few years some tracks, “Final Fighting”, “Electricman”, and “Mind Erased”
were chosen and broadcasted by “The Gurufs” a program broadcasted on a roman
radio called Radio Città Aperta.
Even if it’s not so easy to emerge in the music biz, where it’s hard to be
original and get new ideas, Roy is always able to get out the best and to
produce always new and interesting tracks, without being fashion victims,
following the road he feels inside with amazing sounds.
He cooperates in the past and nowadays
with different artists, Key from Meka group (Some Bizarre Ltd rec) for example.
Actually Roy has signed cooperation with the American label Protium Music with
which he released his first album “Travel in the Mind” in 2007.
In his first
Protium release Roy reach the number one on the Australian radio chart of “ZFM”
with two different tracks “Mondo in Pena” and “Back in Time” (released on
Protium Music on the first version of “Travel in the Mind” under the name of
HFM). Exclusively released on Beatport, the
second version of “Travel in the Mind” under the name of Roy Morris, where
tracks like “The Fly” and “Electricman” gets a good success without much
promotion.
Today Roy is going to release on Protium
another project called “Electro Music” and he’s working on a futuristic project
with some local producers here in Turin.
