Bio
Higgs's career as a keyboardist began back in the early 1980's. Having studied under a number of notable jazz pianists Higgs spent a number of years playing solo modern jazz piano in London while developing his own unique musical style. Higgs is now a published musician, keyboardist, composer, and producer for his company Creative Musicality where he specialises in contemporary jazz-tinged instrumental melodic mood music, focused primarily around the piano. Higgs' work as a composer and recording artist has been endorsed and partly produced by the late Gus Dudgeon (Elton John, David Bowie), and his self-titled CD album Higgs Boson has received high praise from Alphonse Mouzon, Tony Levin and a significant number of other jazz notables. Jazz Journal International, Keyboard Review, Rhythm Magazine, Guitar Techniques and The Mix are among publications that have given his music great reviews, praising both the composition, execution, and production. Higgs' work has featured on Humphrey Lyttleton's 'Best of Jazz on Record' show on BBC Radio 2 and has also been extensively played on network Radio and Television throughout the UK, Europe and the World. -

Music inspired by the edges of science, where imagination starts to take over; the source being an imaginary sub-atomic particle associated with the beginning of time some 13.7 billion years ago when it is alleged by scientists the 'Big Bang' happened. .. Mentions of the Higgs boson, which is affectionately known among scientists as the 'God particle', occur in some works of fiction. These references mostly imbue it with fantastic properties, and of the actual theory of the particle only its unknown mass is capitalized upon. For instance, Dr. Brian Cox, who works at the Centre for European Nuclear Research and is one of the scientists in pursuit of the Higgs boson, was the scientific adviser on Danny Boyle's metaphysical science-fiction film, ....Sunshine.... (2007)... ..The Higgs boson is a hypothetical massive scalar elementary particle predicted to exist by the Standard Model of particle physics. It is the only Standard Model particle not yet observed, but plays a key role in explaining the origins of the mass of other elementary particles, in particular the difference between the massless photon and the very heavy W and Z bosons. Elementary particle masses, and the differences between electromagnetism (caused by the photon) and the weak force (caused by the W and Z bosons), are critical to many aspects of the structure of microscopic (and hence macroscopic) matter; thus, if it exists, the Higgs boson has an enormous effect on the world around us... ..As of 2007, no experiment has directly detected the existence of the Higgs boson despite large efforts invested in accelerator experiments at CERN and Fermilab, but there is some indirect evidence for it. The Higgs boson was first theorized in 1964 by the Scottish physicist Peter Higgs, working from the ideas of Philip Anderson, and independently by others... As a footnote, Higgs was recently contacted by Edinburgh University who wanted to present the Higgs Boson CD to Professor Higgs at a dinner to commemorate an anniversary of the particle accelerator at CERN. Apparently they handed him the CD and said that they had found the Higgs Boson after all! Because of an apparent spat between Prof Higgs and Stephen Hawking the Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at Cambridge University, Hawking was also sent a copy of the CD along with a little note from Higgs that said, "I hear reports of my non-existence are being greatly exaggerated!" Higgs has yet to hear back from Professor Hawking, but rumour has it that 'Step Out of Your Mind' (the CD's other title) has been heard floating among the hallowed spires…....

.. .... ....Welcome to the official Higgs Boson MySpace site
It is with great pleasure we present Higgs Boson, an English keyboard player/composer who specialises in an exhilarating and unique form of jazz/world fusion that marries music, art and science in harmony.
Higgs Boson - Music inspired by the edges of science, where the imagination starts to take over; the source being an imaginary sub-atomic particle (aka the 'God Particle') associated with the beginning of time! Higgs Boson draws inspiration from the elusive particle of the same name.
Higgs Boson was born in Bideford, N. Devon, England. He started playing the piano at the age of 8 and studied the instrument classically while still at school. At the age of 14 he became a rock drummer, playing mainly original material in local bands. The most notable of these was Helter Skelter, a band managed by Will Palin, sound engineer to David Bowie and subsequent tour manager to Chris de Burgh. In 1992 Higgs was signed to Elysium Records on the strength of an album entitled ‘Leaving’ that was to be produced by Elton John’s producer Gus Dudgeon (‘Goodbye Yellow Brick Road’ ‘Captain Fantastic’etc.) also XTC and Eric Clapton

The first Higgs Boson CD album has been released to widespread acclaim in the British Music press.
Jazz Journal International, Keyboard Review, Rhythm Magazine, Guitar Techniques and The Mix are among publications giving Higgs' music great reviews, praising both the composition and execution of his first album.
The CD has also featured on Humphrey Lyttleton’s 'Best of Jazz on Record' show on BBC Radio 2 and has also been extensively played on network Radio and Television throughout the UK.
Higgs put together a group of exceptional musicians for this album and is the first jazz project totally controlled by Higgs from composition through to final production, helped by Gareth Young, an internationally acclaimed pop producer and Jo Partridge guitarist on Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds. The album comprises nine original compositions that are strikingly fresh and inventive, showcasing Higgs' diverse jazz, rock and classical influences.

Scientists at Cern who successfully found the Higgs Boson band earlier this year determined that it was it was emitting music which left the scientists scratching their heads in rhythm. You guys rock,,,,,,,,,Penumbra is now my favorite song...10 more listens and I'll be good.....

Heyyyyyy!!!
Whatup??? I hope it’s all mighty wicked (or freaking awesome).
So, here’s the big news:
I just uploaded ‘ID part 2; IN THE AFTERLIFE?’, a piece of music unlike anything You’ve ever heard before!!!
Now, I must confess that, if I was reading this, I’d feel less than irresistibly tempted. The pursuit of novelty in music most often leads to such things as superchromatic mental wanking, plain rap or the ever-popular chewing-snoring-farting combo. But, as You already know, I don’t play any of these games. Instead, every single note has been carefully chosen by Yours Truly through a lengthy procedure known as Composing. Yours Truly makes history for real
So, I’d really like for You to take a listen, enjoy and let me know what You think.
Have a fantastic new year, inherit a fortune from an obnoxious relative and spend it naughtily!
Peace and love,
Basil.
