Highball Shooters is a Swedish rockband, based in the city of Helsingborg. The band was founded in the snowy christmas of 2005 when me and Alex decided to jam around with a couple of our songs with three other musicians, Peter, Gegge and Jonas. It sounded good enough the first time around for us to continue and search for a singer. We tried some, but none were suitable for the band, this was when somebody brought up the bright idea to try Alex on the lead vocals, formerly just a guitarist he had at least laid down the vocal tracks on the pre-productions. It sounded good, and by April 2006 our first demo "Voodoo Dance" was recorded, it contained four tracks which were written in 2005, before there even was a band. I wrote them just for fun, like i used to in my bandless days. Those songs were Walk Like A Man, Backstabber, Piper's Song and Voodoo Dance.
Some people heard this demo, among them Björn "Speed" Strid, a locally based singer who is most known for his stellar work in melodic death metal band Soilwork. I think he liked what he heard, at least he asked us if he could come down for an audition, well, of course he could.....we did a couple of Whitesnake songs and some of our own and it sounded good. Björn became the lead singer rather instantly, but just as soon the idea of still giving Alex some of the lead vocal duties evolved. Highball Shooters was now a six piece with a two-piece vocal section. This band recorded four new songs in december for the new demo "Lovestruck". In early 2007 however, Gegge Hedenfelt decided to quit the band and was replaced by Richard Larsson a couple of weeks later. Richard immediately found his way with his super-groovy funk rock style and we played a couple of gigs and recorded the Magnum Opus of Highball Shooters III in his vintage studio in southern Sweden.
