Sounds Like
"... High Blue Star's sound is a collision of industrial gothic walls of substructure and experimental tactfulness that works its way into your soul. Having had the pleasure of seeing them live I can tell you that they reproduce all of the nuances here. Laurie Reade may be one of the best singers I have ever seen. She is powerful and charismatic and in control of some very unique pipes...
...Brian Green works his instruments in synchronized layers of color waves that rush through the body making this a physical as well as psychological journey."
Mark Lane, Chain DLK
"...post-apocalyptic lounge music"

"...menacing and beautiful...an atmospheric and memorable performance..."
High Blue Star is a genuinely experimental independent band, driven by cyber-punk and DIY ideology. Entertaining, enchanting and subversive, they create mind-bending futuristic soundscapes, giving their listeners a sublime visceral experience. Combining intense artful electronics and voice with traditional instrumentation, their influences range from Skinny Puppy, to Dead Can Dance; Massive Attack, to Brian Eno. Their inventive live performances weave sound and video imagery together, creating an atmosphere that transports their audience to another world.
Laurie Reade (vocals/video) and Brian Green (composition/live instrumentation) have toured extensively, performing alongside bands including Clan of Xymox, Rasputina, and Wolfsheim. Exceptionally collaborative, High Blue Star can be heard on several compilations, and their music has sparked international collaborations with darkwave pioneers, Attrition, luminary composer/inventor, Mark Deutsch, and industrial supergroup, PIGFACE. .
Christoph Hall joined High Blue Star in summer of 2005 on drums. Heavily influenced by tribal drumming, and traditional Celtic percussion, Hall has given a new dimension of energy and creativity to High Blue Star, both live and in the studio.
High Blue Star released their self-titled debut in the Spring of 2006 and celebrated with two tours of the states in thier bus fueled by recycled cooking oil. Currently the members of High Blue Star reside in Minneapolis, MN and have been performing and recording with other projects. Christoph has been drumming for Autumn, Brian has been working with the Mercury Virus, and a new live analog synth band, Stensi-co Inuendo and Laurie has been recording for her solo project, Kho Hat Hasa, as well as with black tape for blue girl.

“Most people treat the present moment as if it were an obstacle that they need to overcome. Since the present moment is Life itself, it is an insane way to live.” – Eckhart Tolle
With such compelling voice and intricate instrumentation, you create something unique for the electronic/industrial genre. I am so sorry you were not able to perform in Austin.
We're so glad you all came back to Austin, and we were so heartbroken that you didn't get to play, that was unbelievable! Hopefully it won't deter you from returning again soon...we absolutely LOVE your music!
