Bio
Las Vegas Nevada native "Highdro" was raised mainly in the north and east sides of Vegas. He also spent a few of his adolescent years in a much smaller town, Fernley Nevada. The change of scenery opened his mind to different ways of life and could have played a role in his diverse styles of music which range anywhere from Hip-Hop, Funk, Soul, Reggae-rock and Ska but his songs convey messages far beyond classification of a genre. Highdro is a motivational force of positive energy exploding out of Las Vegas as one of the hardest working independent artists on the rise in hip hop right now. He continues to maintain his status as one of the most prominent emcees in the city as well as touring frequently to expand his fan base. He performs in 3 bands along with his solo career, all of which have their own unique sound. He released 4 original albums in less than 2 years that all received multiple positive write ups and mentions in local magazines and papers. After forming one of his bands within just a week they opened for the Wu-Tang Clan at the House of Blues Las Vegas and within months continued to open for The Slackers, English Beat (both at the Hard Rock Café on the LV strip) Kotton Mouth Kings, Everlast and the Skatalites. Some other artists he's performed with include Masta killa, Inspectah Deck, Killah Priest, Blueprint, Illogic, Abstract Rude, Aceyalone, Reel Big Fish, Tha Alkaholiks, LMNO, CappaDonna, Knockturnal, Free moral Agents and many more. He is sponsored by RAW, an internationally known rolling paper company. When Highdro came into the hip hop scene, he recognized the lack of places for emcees to perform in Vegas. He then decided to get a night going that accepted every emcee and would give them a chance to sharpen their skills. Currently known as "Hip Hop Roots" it is the longest running weekly Hip Hop night in Las Vegas. Hip Hop Roots has maintained its reputation as a hip hop haven for over 3 years now and continues to grow. The amount of passion he puts into his music as well as every other aspect of his life is evident on and off stage. His music and performance exhibit strong emotion that listeners can not only hear and see but feel, he tries to capture his own soul into each track he makes. He says he lets the music write itself though life experiences. His goal for his music is to educate, inspire and bring out a positive vibe in everyone who hears it. He said; "Growing up music played a parental role in my life, it basically raised me." He didn't always take hip hop as a career seriously until his fan base built up, then it became evident that this was what he was meant to do and realized that he can potentially leave a positive impact on peoples lives though his music. With perseverance, he built everything from the ground up. He has an enormous drive for success and slowing down is not anywhere in his future plans. Highdro is original, soulful and an inspiration to many. -

-Chose to release a three EP collection of six tracks a piece rather than a full length first. He displays three completely different styles all able to be marked to different crowds. His first album "Rise Up" is inspired by Oldschool Hip Hop & Roots Rock Reggae. It was wrote in the intention of bringing the soul and substance back to Hip Hop music. The second album "Concrete Jungle" is his mainstream club/radio album. Hard hitting beats all the way through! Catchy hooks with a tounge twisting message. This is not your typical dumbed down mainstream album. The third album "The time is now" is his Political/Revolutionary/Underground side. Packed with supressed information & backed with real emotion and anger. Together you have "Rise Up Concrete Jungle, The Time Is Now". Meaning the people of poverty, the people knowing of whats going on must stop talking about it & start standing up. His goal in his music is to inspire and educate people so they can better themselves and society as a whole.
-He formed a Funky,Jazzy,Reggae,Hip Hop Band called "Radio:Alarm" in hopes to get his message into places that didnt accept Hip Hop in Las Vegas.
-Started his own label "FreshTalent Entertainment" to distribute his music and create a more professional movement for his music
-He has collaborated with blues & Reggae bands & is currently producing tracks with a local Punk rock band. He strives to have produced tracks rather than beats saying "I would rather have a creation rather than a recreation"."My Rhymes were'nt recycled so why should the track be."
-In 2004 he traveled to Amsterdam to judge the Annual Cannabis cup. The journey impacted his life & led to some good stories to write about & remember.
-Has been in Hemp rallys fighting alongside friend & esteemed activist/author Jack Herer on multiple occasians
-Although his name represents his spiritual sacrament "Herb". His music is far deeper than just funny pot rhymes. He is unable to really be profiled on his genre. Claiming that his genre is Music & that he will make what he feels.
-He writes music from his heart not his head. Writing about past experiences and hoping to help someone else from traveling the same wrong road he may have traveled through a message in his music. Rather than sitting down to write music he lets it write itself. When he feels something & hears it he writes it down & may become inspired right there. Very conscious in his writing in that he writes about what he is doing, living, & feeling.
