Life is not a straight line, it is a tangent from someplace to somewhere; I am now discovering you can change your somewhere!
My main interest right now is in general happiness, which includes photography, music, good wines and if I've been a good boy, all 3 at the same time! Photoshop, computers, arts, movies, comedy and just plain people watching. I also love playing poker, it has such a tight rule structure, a perfect universe, a perfect place to be alone in a crowd. For me right now there is nothing better than some good music, good wine, good food, and interesting people to talk to and get to know. I love the fragrance of nice purfumes my current favorite is Boucheron a lovely spice scent. Anyway its like a drug and makes my eyes glaze a bit.
Photography in clubs shooting without flash... In selecting photo's to change to images I look for shots that give feeling and spirit to what I felt at the performance.
I try not to just freeze time for a shot but give my viewer an insight into my relationship with the artist at that moment in time, the organic connection to the music as I felt and saw it.
I hope you enjoy some of my photography and digital art images. Lastly people watching, lets face it you and people like can be fun and interesting to watch.
Music
I have the greatest of respect and appreciation for all musicians, it's a miracle how they create music, and I am a great listener getting into the details of song, arrangement, and method. Firstly I LOVE live performance regardless of style. For styles I love old school Funk, Soul Jazz, Groove, Jazz, Big Band Jazz, Blues, R&B and quality R&R which is usually called alternative, folk, pop and vocals sung by singers with voices twice their size. I love vocals when a singer lets it all out and holds nothing back, this sometimes gets me emotional but I like it and need it. Music I really don't listen too... Country, Rap, Metal and any exploit somebodies style material. As for CD's I have an awful lot, I won't embarrass myself and say how many!

Love the old B+W stuff especially Film Noir styles with moody lighting. With mainstream Hollywood movies other than a Scorsese or Mamet film (I love the way Mamet characters repeat dialog so distinctive) or some action adventure movie that needs big screen I will wait till its on DVD or Cable.
I won't watch horror, violent or other exploitation type films.
Television
God bless the DVR. I love 24, Burn Notice, Chuck, Bones, and House. Once in a great while I will watch some sports maybe as a testosterone recharge or something?
Books
Unfortunately I need to read a lot of technical magazines and manuals as I am self taught and have not read for enjoyment in a quite a while. When I do read for pleasure its SI-FI, drama and suspense stuff.
Heroes
I am very fortunate to see and meet real heroes on occasion, some are my friends. People who look into themselves, know themselves, reveal themselves openly, and try to always improve their life even if they need to take a hard road to get there. In other words seekers of universal truth. Others are those who have made themselves complete enough that they offer their skills to others.
As photographic artists, William Gottlieb and Herman Leonard for their work in music and Annie Leibovitz the Ansel Adams of portraiture.
About me: I'm a 6'5" tall 23nd century, bald "hippie" who self indulges on things that makes me happy and right now old school funky music makes me the happiest! I need a daily dose.
I love people, dogs, humor, circus clowns, the human condition, NYC, music, performance art, digital photographic art and of course computers. Computers; I make a living from them and the grief and frustration they cause others. Part of that "living" is working creatively to design internal software's, interfaces, reports and databases that make our company run with less people, adding accountability, structure and removing user frustrations.
I love to create and have a need to do so but musically I can't sing or play an instrument (now learning drums) so I have become a great student of listening. I need to see live bands at least 6 times a month or I get very edgy and distracted. A few musician friends also send me their roughs to listen to and ask me to constructively critique it before the final version, or mix, which I gladly do. For work I am the Director of Technology for a wine and liquor retail company. I am very lucky that I work with the greatest and nicest of people who truly respect me, who really care about me and mentor me daily. I really love my job and these people and I am dedicated to doing the best I can 24/7 for them, they are like family to me and they treat me as one of theirs. I have also come to love the city I live in Stamford, CT, It's not NYC, but tries to bring NYC types of cultural experiences here with art and music. As I have been getting out more in Stamford I'm meeting warm sincere people who make this a community.
At this point in my life I am truly happy with my job my family, and my good friends both new and old who give me support and strength and keep me pointed towards the light.
I’m an night owl and love doing new things and may go back into doing stand up comedy (1971-72) in the future.
Personal Growth never stops; I'm still learning about me by listening to people like you so talk to me. If you can't teach me something who the can?
I LOVE NYC, the West Village, the clubs and the different foods...grabbing a Shawarma on McDougal Street?
Why is it that most Jazz clubs in New York City have the poorest excuse for stage lighting?
I am very content to be alone; I enjoy my own company and have enough personal interests to keep me busy. I also tend to get very quiet and just live in the moment to just enjoy the feeling of the moment when I am truly comfortable and very happy. The most beautiful place I have ever been was Maui. I went three times, and each time it gets better.
Years ago I was a professional commercial photographer and I have been using photography as my creative expression again.

Who I'd like to meet: Passionate optimists and people of similar interests and passions. Creators not just consumers. Seaekers of the universal truth. Quiet people, complete people. FUN PEOPLE WHO LAUGH OUT LOUD! People who love to go to live music and live performance. People who actually have fun shopping in the supermarket and like watching people thump the melons.
You will only make my friends list if you are really my friend... want to be a good friend... you are demonstrably funky, or you are a good musician in a style that I dig.
I have been lucky to gather many friends here and most of them are FUNKY musicians, kind of like a compendium of funk!
Please explore my pages of friends and I sincerely hope you find new and groove based music to listen to and enjoy!
