The High Hopes Band is considered one of New England's premiere reggae bands. High Hopes prides itself on continuing the tradition of roots/orthodox style reggae (classic 70's period) with an updated feel for today.
Jahsun has backed Fanton Mojah & Yami Bolo as well as opened for Midnite and Morgan Heritage. O Jinga, our true veteran, played with Israel Vibration for several years. Jules & Brian are solid musicians and well schooled in the rockers tradition. Our rotating keyboard player Yusaku Yoshimura is a top notch freelance musician. Yusaku has recently returned from Jamaica where he played on albums for the Congos, Viceroys & Earl Chinna Smith.
Currently High Hopes backs, JAHriffe, Zion Iron Lion, Judah Eskender Tafari, Bush-I, & various other New York City and Boston based West Indian reggae artists.
Founding member and former front man of John Brown’s Body Kevin Kinsella returns to Southern Cali August 1 to perform with Elijah Emmanuel and the Revelations. Come out and show some love!
