High Hypnotic is a rising underground metal band from Kouvola, Finland. The band combines elements of melodic death metal and alternative metal to form their own, identifiable style. Their new promo-CD “Lifeless” is a solid successor to 2009’s “Medication”, containing three new songs. Tracks like “The Time is Right Now” and “Dreams” rely on heavy riffs, groovy rhythms and melodic choruses. High Hypnotic started in 2004, influenced by bands such as In Flames, Slipknot and Machine Head. They quickly started to write their own material, and three demo tapes were released in a short period of time. In 2005 the band played its first gig in a band competition. HH convinced the judges and won first place with their first live performance. 2006 brought more gigs but also a line-up change. The band parted ways with their old singer and they were without a frontman for almost two years. Finding the right man for the job was not the easiest task, but finally in 2008 Eza’s former bandmate Sami Kujala from HateFrame joined in. New gigs were played and the 4th promo-CD, “Medication” was released. It got positive responses from the media and got chosen as the “demo of the month” at a Finnish metal website imperiumi.net. Recently High Hypnotic took part in another band contest that included 12 bands. HH won, and was rewarded with a gig at Kouvola’s Pioneeri Festival. The judges described the group as a professional, well-trained band. On July 16th 2010, High Hypnotic played their first festival show and also released their 5th promo-CD “Lifeless”. High Hypnotic is a hardworking band that has always reached for the top, and the ride won’t stop until this quintet has reached its absolute full potential. Right now, besides booking gigs and writing songs, the band has its hands full with some special video material and merchandise stuff, so the work continues.
