About Highland Alternative Music

MyGen Profile Generator

Highland Alternative Music is based in the west end of Dingwall. It has been set up to provide a venue for rehearsal, recording, tuition and master classes for young people within the community who wish to participate in alternative music genres. The project is non profit making and has been funded by Awards for All, Leader+, Youth Music Initiative and the Highland Council. Highland Alternative Music is looking for young people (14 - 25) to get involved in their Advance in Music Project (AMP). This one year project will provide tuition and training in several different aspects of the music industry. The project aims to develop bands with a course of recording and performance tuition. There will also be event co-ordination workshops focussing on event organising and promotion which will be open to anyone interested in this aspect of the industry. There are several performances planned for throughout the coming year. These will be organised by youths as part of the project and the performances will feature bands that have been involved in the workshops.
