HIGHLY RATED ENTERTAINMENT is an collective of some of London's brightest young talents. Originally formed as a 'grime crew' in 2005, the new initiative sees HRE as an affiliation brand, with the long term goal to develop to a vanity label.
Each artist has earned stripes on their own merit, honing their considerable talents on a variety of pirate and commercial stations throughout London and nationwide, including airwaves via BBC RADIO 1, BBC 1XTRA, CHOICE FM, KISS, MYSTIC FM, DÉJÀ VU, RINSE FM, HEAT FM and more.
And they're not just experienced in broadcasting alone - they also know their way around the studio! Their most notable release was the gargantuan 'MISSION RIDDIM' (by D.Dark), which went on to sell over 2000 copies and featured in the BBC's Panorama documentary series. D.Dark also featured on FLUKES's massive 'WIFEY RIDDIM' in 2006, receiving prodigious support from all major fm stations. Other significant recorded moments include 'Best Ov Both', the debut mixtape from reknown grime/bashment specialist Shizzle, and three videos reaching the Top 20 in the Channel AKA chart, including the ground-shattering "Breakin' The Scene" featuring In Da Hood and Crazy Titch.
The Highly Rated sound is unique because they are definitively more artistic than other groups in their genre. Their sound is clearer to people who may not be familiar with the UK underground sound, which is predominantly aggressive. Expect big things from this group, who have been patiently waiting for their chance, whilst slowly working their way up the rankings.

Review: "Don Goliath's "Bagstep EP" (DDR030) is one of those innovative EPs showcasing how versatile Dubstep can get. The unique idea of creating Dubstep versions of celctic (Irish as well as Scottish) folk classics for all you drunkards longing to sing along was Don Goliath's motto when producing this madness. The concept is as simple as effective: he picked 4 of your grandpa's favourites such as "Old Skibbereen", "Scotland the Brave", "Drunken Sailor" and "Amazing Grace" having the melody played by a definitly non-sober Bagpipe section and then layering it with lofi mid range wobbleism - we therefor call it Bagstep. Overall production quality is high grade with that intense sub focus so you can blow-dry your hair right in front of the bass bins. Now let's get into the tunes: "Skibbereen Bagstep" is one of the melancolic minor tunes expressing Irish history as it is. It is an unmixable 3/4 waltz beat at unusual 154bpm, well dancebal though when one moves to the triplets. "Bagstep the brave" should be one of the sickest rebuilds of the Scottish national anthem making it Mel Gibson's signature tune if he had one. "Drunken Bagstep" is a Glitchfest version of the sailors anthem capable of getting you uberdrunk by listening alone, Arrrr! "Amazing Bagstep" is as religious as it gets making it a tune that'll certainly safe xamounts of lost souls. Enjoying the dancefloor got even easier now: drink out the bar, make your skirt fly and sing along to these (future) classics! Some will hate this release and some will love it, there barely is anything in between. All Dubstep Division crew salutes the latter as our fellow beerheadz! cheeeeeerz!"
