Sounds Like
The creation of this album has been like a mission that has lasted for 15 years. Some of the material dates back to 1994 and the vocal was cut in 2005. The music has been created by the worlds best producers for performance poetry and the work of Passtime, HB Clayton and Myra keeps it fresh and up to date. The music fits the vast array of subject matters like a glove and ranges from a hard hitting political theme all the way to an emotinal standpoint that will make you think, these people do have a soft side! Hard to imagine when you hear tracks such as Misled Masses, Cold Winds and The Devil is at Command which features Passtime. Myra's work on JWAH is exceptional and really gives the track a brilliant lift. Frichi's work on All our Possible Futures is simply staggering in its beauty and reflection. Craig Wilson is quite simply a genius awaiting to get out of pandoras box. Not always in complete control of his own creative process and often surprises even himself but what we have here is an audio pleasure for the rest of the world that is willing to listen and learn by the masters of their trade. A project which was largely instigated by HB Clayton of Blind Truth Studios, the hip hop, punk, experimental, lyrical nature of The Globe Project never lost sight of its original brief. Some may not like it but the point is, that many will. Plans are already being made for a second album and live performances, either solo by Craig Wilson or with recorded backing tracks will commence shortly. It sounds like you are being awoken from some kind of nightmare only to realise that we have won the war overnight! Amen.

HPP began life in June/July 2005 when the vocal only album, The Globe Project vol. 1 by Craig Wilson (a Bristol born performance poet and writer), was released in Exeter (UK) after 6 months of recording at MOP/New Music Developments with assistance from Andy 'Bliss' Evans and Jon Mila. I was on the street, skint, it was cold, wet, windy and the local pigs were causing me problems. In the end it got so shit that this album was always going to get a bit brutal! The vocal performance was written by Craig Wilson from 1994 and performed live, mostly in Bristol since 2002 with a very solid, busy stint of Live poetry performances from January 2003 until I left for Exeter in June 2004 . The CD was hand made to begin with, however with Princes Trust support and DMC in Plymouth, the first pro. version of this album became available in December 2005 by which time HPP had returned to Bristol to promote the CD. Alot of open mics were attended with some special events throughout 2006 with great success, especially at The Old Duke and The Hatchet Inn! With its mix of urban, social, experimental, political, creative and love poems, the album made a very positive impression. Now to add tunes and this is where MySpace came in very useful indeed...Frichi I met here on my craigwilson27 page in late 2006 and HB Clayton in April 2007! The vocal was HOT and who am I to stop two aspiring musicians from helping get this album up to the best possible standards it could attain?
Black Sabbath - War Pigs
It wasn’t until June 2007 when HPP at the time was bouncing between Bristol, Bath & Glastonbury running poetry events & doing open mics w/Kev the Poet etc when All our Possible Futures was released with music by Italian Frichi here on MySpace. Work had begun on this track in late 2006 and the first original version was delivered to HPP in April 2007. This track is a thought provoking love poem that has a surreal beauty about it. By October 2007 when it all started to kick off in Glastonbury & Bristol, HB Clayton of Blind Truth Studios, an American in South Korea at the time, had the idea to put HPP performance poetry to music! He offered his services plus his links to South Korea proved crucial when finding artists and female singers to help with the creation of the eventual final product! The Devil is at Command, Big Brother plus Chaos and Disorder were the first tracks that HB tackled. With very positive feedback and a great vibe from these much harder and political tracks, it was decided that a whole album needed to be done. By December 2007 (by which time HPP was bouncing between Bristol & Southern Spain to work on a writing project that had begun in December 2006 and would take another 16 months to complete but would result in the poetry collections The Gangsters of Matrix City & MELTDOWN) Craig Wilson and High Performance Poetry was joined by both Frichi and Blind Truth Studios for the 2008 version of The Globe Project. The wealth of talent that is on this album is staggering and the results speak for themselves. All the artwork & MP3 tracks ready for MySpace was completed by HB Clayton/Blind Truth Studios by May 2008. After a very stressful last few months in the hot summer of Spain where the only respite from creative burnout was admiring the tanned bodies of beautiful ladies in Torremolinos, I finally returned to Bristol in October 2008 as HPP continued to develop and word quickly spread ON ALL LEVELS! A variety of solo poetry gigs & slams were combined with clever extended marketing which would lead HPP back towards Exeter to say hello to many old friends then onwards to London by March 2009. The stunning LIVE solo poetry sets have also now been recorded w/Acoustic Night during 2009 in Bristol. HPP is now becomming famous and the reputations of those involved has reached LEGENDARY status!!! By June 2009, well HPP bounced all over the shop but Craig finally made his London debut at the Roebuck in SE1 at their monthly BANG poetry event and totally nailed Gordon Brown Prime Sinister to Kingdom fucking come with a stunning live performance of his poem War Budgets, which discusses a very compelling conspiracy theory linking GB to terrorist attacks involving Diana and 9/11!!! If you gonna do it, do it properly and in style. By July 2009, Craig Wilson of HPP had been writing his best poetry for sometime and the unexpected release of OppO}, a 13 poem, 42 page masterpeice, bodes extreamly well for HPPs future. A new vocal recording which will be taken from material written between 2006 to 2009 is now in the pipeline and its working title is Panthers Claw! But as always this costs money and I'm not going back on the street in Exeter to pull that stunt off again (the local Pigs prob won't like that idea much either!!!). This 2nd album is better researched than the Globe Project, but having now left London for Bristol by August 2009, Il call in some old favours and see what can be achieved. With Panthers Claw still in the pipeline, Gangsters, MELTDOWN & OppO} were compiled together to create The Conspiracy Trilogy which was first printed in Bristol in mid October 2009. Iggy Pop - Lust For Life
High Performance Poetry has also acted as an events company and succesfully ran The Hatchet Open Mic night in Bristol (UK) for a total of 10 shows in 2007 w/Simon Leake and the poems of Craig Wilson adorn the Hathet Inns walls! The term High Performance Poetry is also used on all 9 of Craig Wilson’s published poetry collections. In Feb 2008 the Timothy Leary tribute track Ego Death was played on BBC Radio Bristol Uncovered, a first for HPP! By August/September 2008 HPP recieved much valued airplay (with the skillful assistance of Lena: Demeter the Spoken Word in Belgium) on BLOGTALK Radio which included a showcase faeture by House of JAXX plus a spot on American Soapbox. Other internet radio stations such as Inoculated Radio have also played tracks by HPP. More internet Radio stations are discovering HPP, including RadiofreeUSA with more likely to follow. In October 2008, Frichi (without any prior warning mind you!) completed the track No Complaints, based upon the Craig Wilson poem 'Brilliant' which is an excellent eclectic offering from the very talented Italian that develops the HPP genre into a new, exciting direction. By March 2009 Acoustic Night of Bristol, where Craig Wilson has performed LIVE with and without music, on and off since 2002, helped HPP release 4 LIVE tracks that were recorded in Jan 09. The 2nd being Cold Winds and Se7eN, a set dedicated to The Gangsters of Matrix City aka The Aquitted Defendants of the QPR case 2006!!! Harry Pothead Poetry (along with the 10 track/FREE Download MP3s High Performance Poetry relaunch) was set up in late April 2009 which concentrates on Craig Wilsons new poetry material, politics and conceptual ideas using music and film. This coincided with another, to the point if little rusty Acoustic Night gig that was recorded LIVE in May 2009 and includes a memorized if shaky FREEDOM OF SPEECH (for George Bush!) & a BRUTAL Devil is at Command (for the other side) which proves Craig Wilson can still nail it on stage, solo as and when the need arises! He is very, very good at what he does...This was proved yet again at the Acoustic Night Anthology event for the Bristol Poetry festival in early September 2009 when Craig performed Success, which was also released for FREE on MySpace on the HPP MP3 playlist. Other live tracks recorded from September 2009 include the new Sleeping Rough, The Unborn & OppO}. If you want to stand up and be counted, here is as good as any other place to start! The release of The Conspiracy Trilogy in October 2009 that covers Craig Wilson's written work from 2007 onwards bodes very well for the future of HPP as does plans for a novel. The Doors: Ghost Song /Awesome Video!!
Note about the video: The Ghost Song by The Doors was recorded in 1978 for the American Prayer album. Jim Morrison died in 1971 at the young age of 27 but before he broke on through to the other side, he recorded a number of his poems. The idea behind The Globe Project album was based upon the template this album set. Mixing poetry with music is nothing new but the brief behind The Globe Project is. Mixing Electronica, Rock and Hip Hop sounds to the vocal set by Craig Wilson is very much a product of its time and is a serious attempt to bring the performance poetry artform to a new, wider audience. The concept of the artistic revolution and the freedom of speech is to bring those who wish to fight the war on terrorism together as 1. The Globe Project is a fighting album with messages of love, hate, the creative, the brave and the obsearvant. I hope you enjoy the video and I hope you enjoy The Globe Project album. Urban deer massacre ("culling"), combined with unadulterated fun-killing (bow-hunting), is a national disgrace. Through my last 6 Compassion for Animals Road Expeditions (CARE-1 - CARE-6, 2003-2008, each covering 25-42 states over 3-7 months), I have worked with activists in no less than 25 states whose by-and-large pro-culling and pro-hunting officials discharge their "deer management" duties by means of bullets and arrows.
The current hottest battle in the "Deer War" is at the Shawnee Mission Park, Kansas City, which local activists have dubbed "Death Park". There were supposedly some 575 deer living in the 3.7 sq.mi. urban park. Local officials estimate the maximum deer population density to be 50 per sq.mi., which produces the maximum allowable total number of 185 in the park. Up to December 9, 313 deer had been culled by "Dr. Death" Anthony DeNicola. This yields a remaining population of about 260, about 75 higher than the limit of 185, and 75 is about what the Park Board has allocated to the bow-hunters, 15 of whom have been granted permits to do the dirty deed, with pleasure of course...

Anthony Marr will lead a FUNERAL MOTORCADE FOR THE DEER in Kansas City on Dec. 9, Wednesday, at the Shawnee Mission Park - "Death Park" - where 313 deer have been slaughtered in November, and another 70-90 are slated to be killed by bow-hunters as of Dec. 9.
Bear in mind that the non-lethal wounding rate by arrow is close to 50%, meaning: to kill 90, they have to shoot 180. And this is in spite of the Immuno-Contraceptive (IC) technology for deer having already been approved for field implementation by both the FDA and the EPA, plus Anthony's own humane, effective and economical IC-delivery invention known as the Auto Deer Assembler (DAA).

On September 14, 2007, Wisconsin activst Amy Burns sent out a circular urging her readers to go to the Baltimore Sun to join in what is destined to be one of its hottest forums ever, a war of minds over the "sport" of hunting, with emphasis on bow-hunting. While her readers began pondering, comments from the pro-hunting side came in hard and fast. "America's most-hated Anti" Anthony Marr jumped in head first, and so did leading anti-huntresses Tierra and Mamasita. Amazingly, the battle is still raging as we speak, more than two years later in November 23, 2009! The total number of comments so far has exceeded 93,000, and growing. This is a phenomenon, and destined to be a classic, not to be missed if you care about animals at all.
Calcutta sounds like a fable in a song, but in reality, it is where John, my colleague and successor, was murdered. He was on the job for only three days when he got his throat slashed. As an undercover investigator targeting the illegal wildlife trade, especially in tiger parts, his real name was unknown, even to me, nor mine to him. We were just John and James to each other. All I know is that he was Chinese American, while his predecessor James - real name Anthony Marr - is Chinese Canadian, and how sincere he was in helping to save the Bengal tiger from being poached out of existence, while its habitat continues to dwindle due to human pressure...
