Victoria Newton
THE son of MP ALAN JOHNSON is living out his dad's rock'n'roll dream.
Health Secretary Alan dreamed of being a rock guitarist but instead had to settle for politics.
But son Jamie is now making the grade as a music producer and has worked with big names including modfather PAUL WELLER, RAZORLIGHT and up-and-coming Liverpool band HIGH RISING.
He has just produced their new single Problem, written by brothers Mick and Anthony Gliddon. Who needs politics...

Problem 30th July – Ditto Music
High Rising release their debut single ‘Problem’ which is produced by Jamie Johnson (Razorlight and Paul Weller)
’Problem’, written by scouse band brothers, Mick and Anthony Gliddon is a fresh and vibrant summer soundtrack about how
men and women never understand each other.
The track has been produced by Jamie Johnson, who worked on Razorlight's second album, and who can count Paul Weller, Dave Gilmour, Phil Manzanera, Chrissie Hynde, Annie Lennox and Robert Wyatt amongst some of the musicians he's worked with.
Jamie Johnson says: "When I first heard Problem, the sentiment made me laugh. I wanted to help the band release it as a single - it deserves to be a hit."
’Problem’ is the main track, but the single offers 3 B sides. ‘Fall’, ‘All for You’, and the ballad 'She's Not Worthy' written by Anthony Gliddon when he was only 15 about a woman tackling an abusive relationship.

ONE OF OUR REVIEWS
High Rising - Single - Problem
High Rising have an open-ness to their music; clear, uncluttered and straight to the point. They write and play in such a way as to allow the listener access to their songs without clouding the issue with over-playing or unnecessary instrumentation.
'Problem' seems to typify the High Rising musical ethos and sells itself on its lyrics about men and women and the way they 'read' things very differently. It carries a quirky, bright feel as it skips along with infectious pop sensibility and typically British qualities - pretty damn commercial and nicely radio friendly.
'Problem' comes with three 'B' sides in 'Fall', 'All For You' and 'She's Not Worthy' and as I listen I'm trying to decide who High Rising remind me of - 'Problem' is a little Squeeze-esque and at times I can hear some Cast-type vocals, particularly in 'Fall', then I hear bits of Razorlight and just a hint of Hard-Fi. 'She's Not Worthy' has a balladic edge and shows High Rising's emotional side. Certainly, High Rising are commercially biased but they can rock with the best of 'em as shown on 'All For You' which is an altogether more punchy, rockin' work that brings the four tracker to a tantalising end.
High Rising generally keep things very real - they write and play with a refreshing simplicity and honesty; the result being commercially sound and stereotypically British through and through. 'Problem' and its three 'B' sides is a great introduction to a confident sounding band that sounds pure and homely but can turn it on and up when the need arises and rock with the best of 'em.

Either follow the links above or search "Ever Since The Lake Caught Fire" on iTunes.
"Produced by ¡Forward, Russia!'s Tom Woodhead, debut single A Fire Born In Dallas (released on the Pay For The Piano imprint) finds post-hardcore and prog influences welded together to create a sound that is both vulnerable and self-assured. Admittedly, the usual influences of Fugazi and At The Drive-In are worn pretty obviously, but the band are far more than mere copyists.
Indeed, at their single launch they offered an intense and impassioned performance, with snare cracks and upstrokes reverberating around the venue.
Ever Since The Lake Caught Fire, it would seem, have more than enough firepower in their sonic arsenal to kick some of the music world's feted young pretenders into touch. " The Metro
