CHRISTMAS DAY AT CHILDREN'S
On Christmas day, 2007, Ace visited the patients at Children's. He delivered stuffed jaguars to all the kids. These jags were gifts from generous donors to Highrollers with Heart. If you were a donor to this project, we thank you. Enjoy a few pictures of Ace, the kids and a wagon full of jags!
Ace's time at Children's has always been very special and private. We appreciate that he has allowed us a small glimpse into his time there with the kids. What do others have to say about Highrollers with Heart?
Welcome to our Highrollers with Heart Myspace. In Ace’s words, “If you’ve ever wanted to belong to something worthwhile, this is it!” We Highrollers are working with Ace and The Children's Hospital, Denver to raise funds for the construction of a very special addition to the hospital facility: a Family Amenities Area.
Too often, when families from out of town bring a child for treatment to Children's, they have no place to stay while their child is in the hospital. The cost of housing becomes prohibitive and can be an unbearable burden in an already stressful situation.
A Family Amenities Area would alleviate much of this concern for families with in-patient children. It would provide comfort for these families and allow parents to remain closer to their children while undergoing treatment.
As a Colorado native, Ace has observed the miraculous treatment the children receive at Children's and, for years, has offered the two assets he has that are of use to the Hospital’s mission: his love and his talent.
His heart is an open checkbook for these kids.
