Imagine a bunch of four decadent punkrockers once educated to the tunes of the Ramones, Motörhead, the Clash or the Sex Pistols and feeling the urge to kick up a racket...
"Backseat Education", High-School Motherfuckers' first opus is proof that making an album with guitars, drums, beer and genuine no-singing-lesson vocals is still possible!
It's raw, kick-in-the-balls music made straight away from rock. Blasting rythm guitars mingle with raw riffs and supercatchy melodies in the vein of fellow Scandinavian rockers Backyard Babies, Hellacopters or Hardcore Superstars' music.
It all started in 2003 on the occasion of a tribute to the Ramones down in one of Paris' underground bars. The band played their very first gig on that night with Jean Beauvoir (Kiss, Ramones, Plasmatics, Little Steven...etc) himself as a special guest and a few promising shows later, they felt it might be worth taking a step further, which resulted in the recording of 5-track "Want Some ?" at the end of 2003.
The EP was warmly welcomed by the public and a number of various fanzines started circulating the name of the band.
The HSMF then appeared on several compilations and embarked on a series of shows throughout France, Switzerland, Hungary, Danemark and in the Netherlands, playing along with such bands as : L.A. Guns, Thunder Express, Winger, American Heartbreak, Adam West, Tracy Gang Pussy, The Black Halos, Boozed, Lik...id, Psychopunch, Judasville, Chains, Rock City Morgue, Punish Yourself, Adam Bomb, American Dog, The Joystix, Flying Donuts, The Turbo AC's, Snake Eye, White Flame, Black Rain and also ex Blink182: +44.
The band's genuine attitude and their frenzy on stage make it clear that they're not one of those groups who just try to take advantage of the renewal of garage rock!
So if you feel like having a dose of pure genuine Rock'N Roll, just dig the High-School Motherfuckers, but beware ! High risk of overdose...
