Los High Sierras formed in chaotic city of Vigo (Spain) in summer 2001. The members.. band are well know in the little and misfit underground local scene. They..ve got the experience of forming bands like Merry Melodies, Foggy Mental Breakdown or Doctor Five among others.
The name of the band came from the classic Raoul Walsh movie High Sierra, interpreted by Humphrey Bogart and Ida Lupino. It contains several of the main influences for the band with themes that remark a big part from the Sierritas songs: Rifles, outlaws, losers and revenge... the battle of evermore between establishment and rebellious: Do what you want and take what you can.
The musical base that covers this rich sustance isn..t other than the billionth reincarnation of rock..n..roll. Two guitars, bass and drums, spitting the same legacy than artists like Little Richard, Gene Vincent, Beatles, Rolling Stones, New York Dolls, Flamin.. Groovies or Radio Birdman among thousands- have transmited along decades: Cure for pain, revive the spirit and satisfie the body. These are our main objectives too.
They have shared programme with artists and bands such as Roy Loney & Señor No, The BellRays, Violent Femmes, Danko Jones, The Jeevas, Soledad Brothers, The Soundtrack of Our Lives, Los Coronas, Sex Museum, Los Chicos, Real McCoyson, Derrumbes, Rock-A-Hulas, Lascivos, Tumbitas, Comando 9mm., Samesugas, .... and they even have been proximate to produce a rebelión in A Lama..s prison. Their live show is considered as one of the best for the people that have seen them: satisfaction guaranteed for all true believers in rock..n..roll: sweat, emotion and action!
