Firing up and kicking back and not being polite about it.
Music
Music & Original Score: Bobby Tahouri. Songs: Didjworks. Song contributions by Brant Bjork, Dark Tooth Encounter, My Dear Wormwood, Meditropic.
Movies
"Dazed and Confused" on speed meets "12 Angry Men" meets David Mamet's flair for fast, relentless and crushing profanity. Yup. Prepare for an assault on the senses and sensibilities...
Television
"
I'm not really like anything on television, I'll tell you that. Maybe "Deadwood" if all the characters pulled enough bingers to kill an elephant, but the aggressiveness remained."
Books
Anything having to do with the last 2500 years of world history. Bring it on, it's all good.
Heroes
The Mongols. Plain and simple. Them sunsabitches conquered more of the known world than Alexander The Great y'all.
"High Society: A Pot Boiler is in a realm of its own... it sure scores in the entertainment factor... an uber-funny gem."
-SKUNK Magazine
"Ballsy and often out of control, this offbeat comedy is the kind of movie Seth Rogen wishes he could make."
-CelebStoner
"...this movie was hilarious from beginning to end ...we watched it a second time that evening and laughed all the way through again."
-THC Media
“…High Society sets up an unconventional premise to the R-rated comedy by tossing out typical stoner gags and plugging in, if not overdosing on, dirty wit.”
-The Daily 49er
"I really, really liked it. Very funny, crude, and well thought-out."
-The Daily Sundial
"I was floored by the amount of vulgarity ...it borders on the edge of a 'Reefer Madness' expose"
-The Fresh Scent
“Trying to pin down this flick is a waste of time. High Society: A Pot Boiler moves through non sequitur and cliché-on-its-ear absurdism at its own whim ...it is able to shape-shift from stoner references to rapid-fire dialogue to character exposition at a jarring but even keel. ...While all the actors deliver, we'll have to give the W to leading man Erik Davies for effectively striking a chord between exuberant, comedically overstated zeal and a smart, reigned-in subtlety."
-My Dear Wormwood
HIGH SOCIETY: A POT BOILER, is a highly original, absurd, profane, provincial, provocative, provolone, wholesome, ignorant, delicious, dark, dank, ludicrous, brilliant, all-encompassing, narrow-minded, sticky, sweet, aquamarine, ultraviolet, reckless, wrecking ball, scrumptious, tacky, sexy, swingin', thoughtfully-executed, oddly-dressed, knickers-sporting, righteous, lowbrow, mid-range, high-energy, field-grey, feel-good, toilet-humored, trouser-snaked, cleavage-baring, fine-tailored, magnificently-endowed, busty, bawdy, silky-haired, fine-sheened, sedated, subdued, outlandish, preposterous, character-assassinating, torpedoing, stammering and smokey new comedy by writer/ director Kristian Davies.
Who I'd like to meet: Anyone who likes a raw and in-your-face stoner comedy. Anyone with a high tolerance threshold. Not necessarily for the ganja, but for bad behavior and poor manners. That'll do. Anyone who has read "The Orientalists: Western Artists In Arabia, The Sahara, Persia and India", the book by the same guy who wrote and directed me. Very different subject matter I warn you, but a nifty experience nonetheless. Pick that action up for a real head-spin.
Incidentally, the Players:
Erik Davies is TRAJAN
Pete Alton is GAVIN
Jeremiah Bitsui is YAKOB
Stephanie Ann Davies is SOPHIE
Tiffany Michael is SVETLANA
Miller Daurey is ATAYSOUAY
