Good times and long stories. The final result that is "Hijinx" was a that of an ever changing conglomerate of bands and interchanging members. Starting as "Two Dollars Short", Hijinx retains only Kevin Leonard and Mike Roe from the original line-up. Merging with local parallel "Radiation Squad", Kevin and current members Matthew Lowery and James Pistol (Jacobs) shared practice space with the coexisting Two Dollars Short (which also shared drummers). Perhaps a main cause of the constant losing and gaining of band members can be explained by the youth of the musicians; 15 and 16 year olds traveling hundreds of miles to meet the demand for punk rock shows in neighboring states. Over the span of the last 10 years, the collective "Hijinx" and it's various band members, (including note worthy Nate Fregoe for his presence on Hijinx's best work "Back to the Buke" EP, 2006) several EPs and demos we're recorded with the help of Victory Records - "River City Rebels" of Vermont.
DISCOGRAPHY:
"Two Dollars Short EP" (2000); "Street Corner EP" (2002); "I Don't Care" (2003); "Shake My Head" and "Badseed" EPs (2004); and finally "Back To The Buke" (2006).Back To The Buke was a very important release for the band, as it depicted the days of a punk rock scene, a unique subculture away from the rest of their peers, and the communion with other bands who played music for a good time; the times and events that shaped what is the existing Hijinx. Nate Fregoe was removed from the band to do commitment issues. A new drummer was introduced in 2007 (Anthony Salvatore) and also left soon after. After numerous auditions, Nick Micheli was chosen as new drummer in September of 2008. In March 2010 Nick left and Hijinx reunited with Mike Roe.
Hijinx has since then polished up and expanded creatively. Entering a gutted out office building with what little recording equipment they could muster together, and with the drive and creativity amongst the members flowing wildly - they began laying down track after track of new material; some of it only days in the works with their first styling and structure only hours old. The current sound is an extension of Back To The Buke with more intimate lyrics, a more experimental writing process, and a whole lot of energy.
