Influences
"Music is your own experience, your thoughts, your wisdom. If you don't live it, it won't come out your horn" -- Charlie Parker
Saturn is a big influence as I'm a Capricorn, but I'm a big fan of Jupiter and Venus. Luck and Love are very influencial. Hard work and vision also rank pretty high on matters of influence.
Here is the TRAILER for "in the Spotlight" traveling the festival circuit now... but first this amazing quote from Laura Alpert in regards to Savannah's new book about her time as JT Leroy: "I am not in any way connected with this book and it disgusts me. Just because you play a writer doesn't mean you are a writer," Albert, 42, told Page Six. "I think Savannah is being motivated by money and attention. Now that she's had to go back to being a civilian, this is her way of getting back to it. It's sad and it's sleazy. She's really stepping on my feelings."

"...this is a poetry of realness - engaging, engaged, challenging, and raw. Goldberg is one to keep an eye on." -- Make/Shift Magazine
"Giraffe Medicine-- Like a modern-day shaman, she conjures up images you've never seen before. Like a subversive beatnik, she tweaks the way you think about everyday reality. And like a word monger from Planet Thesaurus, she gives your brain a bounce. A good bet for anyone who has ever wondered about the connection between rap and E.E. Cummings." --THE G-MAN Hollywood Free Press
"Hilary Goldberg is at play, at risk, at breath stopping, heart piercing pain and at all times she is with eyes wide open. Her gaze is steady. She never looks away. Both in her life and in her art. These are her poems, her life, her experiences." -- Penny Arcade, www.pennyarcade.tv
"...this sumptuous collection of spoken word text serves a wide range of topics through the beautifully embedded cadence in which rhythm creates its own form within the realm of free verse." -- Clint Catalyst
