Band members include singer-songwriter Hilary Scott (vocals, guitar, piano, violin and mandolin); Bill “B.A.” Adams (acoustic guitar, slide); Rob “Lava” Lampe (electric guitar, lap steel); Mike Robertson (bass); Loyd Warden (drums); Matt “Griff” Griffin (harmonica) and Carol Elliot (cello).
The Hilary Scott Band is singer-songwriter Hilary Scott's band. The band got its start when the day after Hilary Scott arrived in Columbia, MO, veteran acoustic guitarist Bill (B.A.) Adams heard her being interviewed and performing live on radio. She was singing, playing her guitar, and Michael Bielski was accompanying her on percussion. B.A. drove to the station to meet her, and the rest is history.
Hilary Scott and the Hilary Scott Band have produced a total of four CDs. Their most recent CD, “Road To Hope” was produced by Steve Gardner at his "The Music House" production studio, and recorded at "The Bridge" recording studio. The album is an exciting blend of folk, rock and blues influences. The album features a number of songs written by Scott: "Daydreamer", "Sugar Bomb", "Such A Good Friend", "Loser Blues", "All Along", "Road To Hope" and "Blessed") and also includes four covers: “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen, “You Electrify Me” by Lee Ruth, “Long Ride Home” by Patty Griffin and “To Make You Feel My Love” by Bob Dylan. The band’s new album was released to a sell-out crowd at the Martini Bar in Columbia, MO. Road To Hope has it's own website: www.roadtohopecd.com.
Other CDs released by the band include: “The Floating World” (2002), “Come In, Come In: Live!” (2003), “Best of Hilary Scott Live – Volume 1” (2006).
The Hilary Scott Band performs in the mid-Missouri area, and in venues in Chicago, Kansas City, St. Louis and Nashville and other cities in the Midwest. The band has opened for Little Feat, Beth Orton, Jonatha Brooks and most recently, for Tanya Tucker at the Festival at Sandpoint (Idaho).
