Other people and why they are they way they are.
ART! All kinds, but especially "visionary" art
my kids are of infinite interest to me... sometimes they are reflections of my past, other times, they are visions of the future, unknown to me.
nature: animals, plants, mountains
Fairies! All kinds of fairies - dark, light, transparent... air fairies rule! FOr years I've been the vendor coordinator at the May Day Fairie Festival
Hiking, especially around Cacapon State Park, home of the mermaid spirits. Working out (Pilates, yoga, weights, aerobics... right now I'm hot on the P90X system - awesome!). Being healthy inside and out. Daydreaming. Reading. Visiting new places.
Music
A little bit of everything which is why I love Sirius Disorder so much. One minute, opera. The next, some obscure country western singer.... Meg Griffin ROCKS (no, not Meg Griffin from Family Guy, although she does too!.
Patti Smith is my all-time favorite musician/poet
Rolling Stones
Beatles
Led Zeppelin
Dropkick murphies!
Anything I can dance to.

Lucinda Williams
Old country, like Hank Williams, Ralph Stanley....
Classic rock: Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin Doors, R. Stones...
Neil Young
Madonna!
Movies
No Country for Old Men AND All the Pretty Horses - again, Cormac MacCarthy is SCARY! Across the Universe was one of the most beautiful movies I've seen in a long time, so sad! Juno was cute, but I think I actually liked Waitress better
Finding Neverland - that's how I want to die... Pan's Labyrinth -- also very beautiful and very sad....like American Beauty - what an achingly beautiful film.
COOL HAND LUKE!!!!!! ONE OF MY ALL TIME Favorites... especially the part where he eats the hard-boiled eggs
Danny Darko
The Departed -- chilling
Lord of the Rings Of course
To Kill a Mockingbird fills me with righteous indignation everytime I see it
Television
OK i admit it i am an All My Children addict. but that's about it. other stuff i watch just spontaneously... AND I just discovered a new satellite channel, CHILLER! 24 hours a day SCARY MOVIES! YES! Nip/Tuck just for the handsome cats with knives and its pure weirdness. Big Love because it's a soap opera with a twist. But TV just doesn't do it 4 me. Too much sitting!
Books
Check out my my Library thing. This is SOOOO Cool for us bookworms! I don't have it all updated yet, but keep watching (i'll update it when I have time in between reading!)
Cormac MacCarthy is one of my new discoveries. The Road is one freakin freaky book.
I just finished The Swarm. An eco-thriller you have to read! You won't go diving anytime soon. Or,maybe you will.
I think that Berkeley Springs may just be the Center of the Universe.
And I believe that Art and Beauty will Save the World.
All that aside.... I'm pretty sure that I'm living a charmed life. I have two beautiful daughters, one born early in my life and another born later. I have a husband who adores me. I live in a community of mostly like-minded souls. The weather is mostly beautiful. I can go walking in our lovely gentle mountains anytime I want. I have a dog and two cats. I like to make crazy quilted, hand-embroidered things when I have time...Check out my etsy store for what's available RIGHT NOW!.
Who I'd like to meet: Eugene McCarthy. Too bad he's dead.

Hey Brenda! Yes, it is Kookie Kaylor, now Catevenis. You live in Berkeley Springs now? I live in Annapolis, MD with my husband, and (sometimes) my three kids. I say sometimes because they are all away at school most of the year. Do you do Facebook, too? I have a Facebook page that has a lot more info, photos, and videos of my kids. Would love to hear more from you!
Hi, oxoxo - you were on my mind tonight... i was wishing it was the beginning of May all over again : ) Hope you are doing well and having fun... oxo, L~
~~ I wish we lived closer ...you sound & look like someone I would like to know better...! Ps. are you looking for a branding iron for the obvious reasons ??? or are you "just that kinky" lol...!
Thanks..."RBAY" other then that I love S&G...and Paul Simon's songs ...was I just heard on the "E" channel that they are releasing a special anniversary edition dvd of "The Graduate" can you believe it's been 40 years since it's release ...OMG...!!! Well... some things never get old ... Ciao!
I'd have to look for a pic, as I have not seen one of him in years to even remember what he looks like! Isn't that sad? The list is by no means complete either. :D
