Ah! West Virginia, not just a state... it's a State of Poverty! As well as a State of Hatred, a State of Metal, and a State of Emergency. The boys and girls here in the great mountain state have grown angry. Our violent rages can no longer be suppressed by drugs and alcohol alone. Our pain cannot be relieved by half-assed rock and roll spouted out by someone with a bland city accent. You want something more you! You want EVIL! You need Hillbilly Deathride! For the most part, our Appalachian youth (and even some older folks) are somewhat ashamed to admit that we're from the good state of West Virginia, constantly afraid people will expect us to live up to our toothless, uneducated, country loving reputations. The truth is, there's a good crop of bands hailing from West Virginia, that I would be honored to represent our musical grounds. And Hillbilly Deathride is proud to carry the weight our state of poverty has laid on us, proud to bring release to our angered people with a raw, unpolished, heaviness - Hillbilly style.
