Hillbilly Delux - Kiss My Country A$$ ..Hillbilly Delux
From Skynyrd to Merle and Waylon , like honky tonk prophets, their words linger on thru this outlaw band Hillbilly Delux. With twin guitars screaming and hard pounding Waylon esque bass and drums, Hillbilly Delux’s sound comes to life. It is best described as “Dirty” Rocking Country. The term “Dirty” refers to the distorted guitars they play and to the “Swamper” feel of their style of country. Hillbilly Delux was formed in August 2006.
It features members Craig Putman on lead vocals, Mitch Clemmons on lead guitar, Terry Harvey on rhythm guitar and back up vocals, Chris Stanphill on bass, and Dave McDonald on Drums.
This Muscle Shoals, AL based band is consistently turning people’s heads with sharply written original songs combined with the best covers from the past and present. They are able to grab the crowd’s attention with their rocking country groove and Craig’s high-flying stage antics. Hillbilly Delux performs for many establishments throughout the southeast, including PJ’s in Muscle Shoals, AL, Whiskey River in Macon, GA, The Country Club in Augusta, GA, The Iron Horse Café in Birmingham, AL, and Sidepockets Lounge in Florence, AL just to name a few. They have also played festivals such as The Wounded Warrior Project in Leesville, LA, The Helen Keller Festival in Tuscumbia, AL, (opened for Billy Currington in 2008) and Bike Rallies across the Southeastern US. Hillbilly Delux is embarking on a national tour in 2009 including the upper mid-west, Texas, the Southeastern US, and others.
When asked about their fan base, front man Craig Putman responds “you know if it wasn’t for the fans there would be no Hillbilly Delux. Our fans are like our friends so that’s how we treat them. The band is also achieving great success with their MySpace website. To date they have over 370,000 plays and over 320,000 views, the site averages over 500 plays per day. There are also over 300 videos if live performances to view at www.youtube.com/hissdemon. The videos speak for the quality of live show HD brings to the table.
Hillbilly Delux has also done many radio and newspaper interviews. It’s obvious they are on a mission to make sure as many people as possible get to hear them and that they get the opportunity to have a positive effect on someone’s life or if at least only for a couple of hours. Great songs always come out of great road stories, along with new friends in great cities. With many shows on the horizon, countless miles to be driven, songs to be written, and albums to be recorded, Hillbilly Delux will bring their “dirty country” sound and high energy performances to the world of music and fans nationwide.

Poem 2 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): WALKABOUT WITH MY PEN
Once drove an old sedan, up north, From a place in Sydney to Cairns; Then to Kuranda I went forth, By train, to look without set plans.
I browsed through the trendy market, With fresh fruits of tropical kind; Walked to the creek through lush thicket - Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.
I dined in a scenic cafe; Then, outside, as I wrote for yen, Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey, You go walkabout with your pen.”
Request or question, I don’t know - Assured voices, elderly men. That’s now several years ago, And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.
Hi Ya'll, Hope your doing well! Updates; planning on being recording the new C&W album in the fall. Willie is doing great after her 5 Bipass surgry last Monday! My wife Rhapsody could use some prayers for her RA its been very painful! All Peace & Love Lee
