A banda Hillbilly Rawhide iniciou suas apresentações em fevereiro de 2003, com a proposta de tocar um estilo feito por poucos no Brasil, misturando muito Country-Hillbilly-Western-BoogieWoogie-HonkyTonk-Blues, sendo desde o começo muito ativa tocando em vários tipos de bares e lugares pelo Brasil afora, e principalmente em sua cidade, Curitiba, no Paraná. A banda vem tocando entre várias músicas próprias, algumas versões de clássicos de lendas da Country Music e do Rock’n’Roll, como Hank Williams (Sr., Jr. & III), Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Wayne Hancock, Dale Watson, The Meteors, Frantic Flintstones, AC/DC, Motörhead, entre outros… O objetivo do grupo é resgatar esse estilo, pouco conhecido no Brasil, mas de fundamental importância na história da música mundial. No final de 2005, antes do primeiro álbum, fizeram o MCD independente "High on the Road", e logo depois foi a vez do seu primeiro registro oficial: gravaram treze músicas pro álbum batizado “Ramblin’ Primitive and Outlaw!”, que foi lançado em 2006 pela Crazy Love Records, da Alemanha, com distribuição mundial, e no ano seguinte no Brasil pela Funeral Music, de Curitiba. Em 2008 foi lançado o EP “FNM”, pela Orleone Records, de Piracicaba-SP, que apresenta três composições próprias e uma versão: FNM, Joe Lee, O Enxofre e a Cachaça e Drunk and Crazy! Atualmente a banda se apresenta duas vezes por semana: todos os sábados à tarde na Cervejaria da Vila, o bar da Eisenbahn em Curitiba (Rua Mateus Leme, 2631) a partir das 16h, e às quintas-feiras no Jokers Pub (Rua São Francisco, 164 , Centro Histórico) a partir das 20:30h. The band Hillbilly Rawhide made the first show in February of 2003, with the proposal to play a style made by just a few in Brazil, mixing Country-Hillbilly-Western-BoogieWoogie-HonkyTonk-Blues, they were since the begining very active playing in many bars and places around Brazil, and mainly in their own town, Curitiba, in the state of Paraná. The band has been playing their own songs mixed with some versions of legends of Country Music and Rock 'n' Roll, such as Hank Williams (Sr., Jr. & III), Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Wayne Hancock, Dale Watson, The Meteors, Frantic Flintstones, AC/DC, Motörhead, among others…
The objective of the group is to make a revival of this style, not so known in Brazil, but of basic importance in the history of world-wide music.
In the end of 2005, before the first album, they made an independent MCD called: "High On The Road", and right after it was time for their first official material, they recorded 13 songs for the album called: “Ramblin', Primitive and Outlaw!”, that was released in 2006 by Crazy Love Records, from Germany, with world-wide distribution, with the name changed to "Ramblin', Primitive, Outlaws!". In Brazil it was released at the Psycho Carnival, February 2007, by the Curitiba label Funeral Music. In 2008 they released the EP "F.N.M.", by Orleone Records, from Piracicaba, Brazil. It has 3 original songs and 1 version: FNM, Joe Lee, O Enxofre e a Cachaça and Drunk and Crazy!
They currently play at least twice a week in Curitiba: every saturday afternoon at Cervejaria da Vila, the bar of the Eisenbahn beer in Curitiba (Rua Mateus Leme, 2.631) starting at 17:00h; and every thursday night at Jokers Pub (Rua São Francisco, 164 , Centro Histórico) after 20:30h.
