Hills & Trains are Jess Atkinson (the project, the pod, white montana), Curtis McKay (She Said You, Rustflower), Travis Dragani (Maeder, the project, Six Hours) and Charlie Carroll.
Their prior lives have seen them spending their days and nights touring, playing or living locally, interstate and overseas and supporting the likes of Alice Cooper, Judas Priest, Powderfinger, Something for Kate, Regurgitator, Paul Stanley and You Am I to name a few.
Their musical worlds collided in early 2009, each member looking for a vehicle for their original compositions. Charlie & Jess having spent the last few years playing solo shows and promoting solo albums, while Curtis and Travis played and released original material in local and interstate acts.
The culmination of the above has lead to an eclectic little outfit that has refined it’s three vocalists and songwriters sound to a Tom Petty vs Ryan Adams feel.
The tail end of 2009 has seen Hill & Trains support The Badloves and James Reyne as well as playing regular gigs at The Grace Emily.
Thanks for the friendship. Great show at Norwood last night. You guys are very slick indeed. I went to see James Reyne and had the privilege of hearing Hills & Trains. It was nice to chat to Travis after the show as well. James (fellow drummer)
