About me: Hillside Recordings is an independently owned and operated recording studio based in Adelaide, South Australia...relocating from Melbourne in 2003 I started the business in my house at the time and quickly gained a reputation in the local scene...four years on and my permanent location in Clovelly Park has been very successful, working with such wonderful acts as: Wolf & Cub, Artax Mission, Fire! Santa Rosa, Fire! No through road, Lady Strangelove, Mr Wednesday, Poly & the Statics, My sister the cop, The Kill Girls, Swords, Sidewalks, Kytes of Omar, The Amcats, Mona Lisa Overdrive, Russia, Swords, Femme Fatales, Straight to Video, Mad Shapes, Tyger Tyger, The Warsaw flowers, Zeta, Antony of the future, The Battery Kids, Lumonics, Brillig and Leigh Stardust...please feel free to contact me about my studio or anything musical or just a friendly chat...cheers, Matt Hills
Who I'd like to meet: Well gee I'm such a music nerd I guess it would have to be Mr Theramin, Mr Moog and Mr Hammond oh and Mr Fender, right about the time in 1956 when he thought up the Jazzmaster guitar! While we're at it...Gil Norton (my all time favourite producer) Alan Moulder and Kevin Shields...
Oh and here's some of my hero's in action...
when you see the video you'll know what I'm on about (Saturday's was tame by comparison). Bluejuice was seriously fucked up too.. good times! :)
I was talking to the bass player about it afterwards and he showed me an SMS from Bluejuice's management (prior to their Brisbane show) complaining about trashed drumkits "please refrain from destroying it again.. a we're sharing it remember?"
Jive's fill in mixer reaaally didn't like 'em.. hehehehe
Hehe.. Thanks for the kind words Matt, they do sound pretty good for home recordings I must say! There'll be plenty of fx when they're all done let me tell you... Cheers for the mix @ Cheetah too, nice work!
