Hipbone Records is a label run by artists for artists. From its inception, positioned with an open ear for all styles of music, tied together by a common thread - that it be soulful, that it groove, and a quality that can't be questioned. Mostly known for jazzy, soulful house releases, HipBone Records has had a strong presence in the dance music market since 1998. Having produced 20 single vinyl albums, licensed to over 40 CD compilations worldwide, HipBone is always looking toward the future.
In addition to the organic pulse of the Beats and Grooves Series, the psychedelic resonance of The Open Door and the deepest grooving NYC house music, Hipbone has extended their repertoire to include Blues and Soul phenomenas The Alexis P. Suter Band, multi-instrumentalist/arranger Tom Murray and his American Songbook for the Modern Ear series, and spectacular jazz vocalist Glenn Turner. In addition, the label will re-release titles from Double Drums, Skins, Metal & Wood, 4 On The Floor and Bonafide, underground house music that was previously only available on vinyl. Remixers who have appeared on the Hipbone label include DJ Filthy Rich, Julius Papp, Roy Davis Jr, Sting International, Pal Joey, Richard Les Crees, Ron Trent, Anthony Nicholson, and World Style.

THE ALEXIS P. SUTER BAND – JUST ANOTHER FOOL
Alexis P. Suter is a rising star on the roots, blues and soul scene. Her powerful bass/baritone voice, seasoned with raw emotion and a wide streak of attitude, has won the praise of greats from B.B. King to Levon Helm. "She is one of those wonderful spirits," said Helm. "She's got her arms around you. You can feel that."
On their latest CD, "Just Another Fool," Suter and her top-notch band take you on a musical journey of emotional, gut-busting blues and soul. The APS BAND penned nine original compositions for their new release, and "Imagination" by Gladys Knight and Big Maybelle's "Pretty Good Love" are cleverly covered. Special guests on "Just Another Fool" are keyboard wizards Bruce Katz, Benny Harrison and Ted Kooshian with Deep Singh on percussion. Band members Vicki Bell and Ray Grappone produced the CD.
A true vocal phenomenon, Suter has been astounding audiences up and down the east coast for the past few years, backed by her tight, soul-rocking ensemble. The band is anchored by Ray Grappone's funky beats and Peter Bennett on bass. Guitarist Jimmy Bennett plays stinging guitar, and soulful singers Vicki Bell, Glenn Turner and Linda Pino ramp up the intensity that has captured the attention of some of the best players around.
Regular performers at Levon Helm's Midnight Ramble Sessions in Woodstock, NY, the band has also performed at festivals including the Pocono Blues Fest, Virginia Blues and Jazz Fest and the New York State Blues Fest. Along with Helm's band, they played sold-out shows at the Beacon Theater in New York City, Bethel Woods Center For The Arts, The Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park, NJ and Central Park's Summerstage.
The APS Band's CD/DVD Live at The Midnight Ramble on Levon Helm Studios Records and their debut release, Shuga Fix on Hipbone Records, are still being enthusiastically received by the music community.

OPEN DOOR - "SO CLOSE TO BEAUTIFUL"
Hipbone Records / Kindred Rhythm are proud to announce the release of Open Doors' second album, "So Close To Beautiful". The CD is being distributed by KOCH International and is available at physical and digital retailers everywhere.
A follow-up to "Whats Behind Door 1" which contained their highly acclaimed single "Breathe" (Pink Floyd cover) , the new record is brimming with 12 beautiful, infectious fresh sounds for the now and beyond.
"So Close To Beautiful" is produced, composed and performed by Vicki Bell, Peter Adams and Ray Grappone and features a cast of guest underground notables including bass players Ben Ellis (The Catherine Wheel) and Jonathan Maron (Groove Collective), turntablist Alix Alvarez, guest vocalist Dana Jared, and Alexis P. Open Door are an open-ended, genre defying merging of jazz, rock, organically danceable grooves, electronica sensibilities and soulful classic keyboard melodies. TOM MURRAY - "COLE PORTER MOODS"
Cole Porter Moods is the first recording in a series called the American Songbook for the Modern Ear released on Hipbone Records. The American Songbook refers to popular songs from the 20’s to the 50’s written by the great Tin Pan Alley composers like Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Richard Rodgers, Harold Arlen, and Irving Berlin, to name a few. Many of these songs were written for Broadway shows and became pop hits when recorded and performed by singers, vocal groups, and big bands of the time.
In production and coming soon is Vol. 2, "Harold Arlen".
