The reality we experience is the reality we imagine and believe. We can only change it by seeing a new vision. Art is the practice of bringing visions into phenomenal reality. I believe there is no higher calling. I write because I must. Ideas come to me as gifts from the muse. As a receiver I must offer these gifts to others as they come through me. Music is my passion and my metaphor for life. I use it as a key to solving life’s mysteries. I write music, I write about music, I write with music and I write as music. Whether I am writing poetry, lyrics, comedy, short stories, ad copy or personal letters, I use the same creative process of flow as I do when writing music. As a retired psychotherapist I have concluded that there are four great therapies available to humans that would promote emotional health: music, love, laughter and meditation. Imagination is an attribute of our higher selves that is directly stimulated by the arts. Much credit is given to those who move bricks and mortar around and those who move money from place to place. I believe that those who move the human spirit with their art are contributors of values that flow directly from the Creator of all.
I believe that our educators for the past thirty years have been mistaken in de-emphasizing the arts in favor of math and science. All of my formal schooling was in the sciences and I can boldly say that every scientific theory I was taught through Ph. D. level has since been proven wrong. Art is never wrong. It has permanent value though its appreciation may modulate based on social, religious or political trends. I endeavor to rekindle a passion for art in the minds of those I touch. Art has the ability to transcend the vicissitudes of life at any level of experience. It can ennoble the humblest of conditions and as well as reflect the most glorious.
Music
A Cockatoo sings the blues: James Moody forwarded this to me and I had to share it.
About me: I am a clinical psychologist by formal schooling and an artist by mentorship and informal schooling. My greatest accomplishments have been as an artist, writer and musician. A mentor once told me that a person needs a profession and a trade. Art is my trade and psychology has been my profession. I have found my greatest opportunities, rewards, my most complete expression of my abilities and my greatest impact in the practice of my trade. My greatest satisfaction is the opportunity to produce lasting value.
Carl Djinn Lewis is a brilliant artist and I am honored to be rendered by him.
Who I'd like to meet: People interested in uplifting the planetary consciousness with art and universal awareness, fellow initiates of the arcane arts, jazz aficionados, fellow musicians...

To the great Dr. Nelson Harrison -- I just want to tell you what an amazing spirit, friend and mentor you are and what a tremendous impact it has been in my life to know you in my pursuit of music as a lifelong endeavor. It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing.
