Throw away any preconceived notion you may have of a stereotypical karaoke night — this is not "Ice Ice Baby" over a stripped down muzak beat in the back of the bar, complete with bouncing ball and cornball graphics. Hip-Hop Karaoke is the prime opportunity for closet MCs to finally grab the mic and bust their favourite raps live on stage with an accompanying DJ and a cheering, enthusiastic audience. Using all original instrumentals we provide hundreds of classic jams for everyone to flex their lyrical skill, from the seasoned hip-hop veteran to the casual fan.
Launched in December 2004, Hip-Hop Karaoke was fittingly born in New York City by founders J. New, DJ Wex and Digs. The night instantly caught on and rapidly gained momentum receiving praise from media outlets such as Spin, XXL, Urb, Village Voice, New York Post and Vibe. Still going extremely strong, Hip-Hop Karaoke NYC has had legendary attendees such as Big Daddy Kane and Diamond D as well as spawning chapters in London, Brighton, Bristol and Iceland.
Never Forgive Action is very proud to bring you the official Toronto edition of Hip-Hop Karaoke. Focusing on a feel-good, no attitude vibe where the emphasis is placed on having fun, Hip-Hop Karaoke Toronto follows in the footsteps of its New York City sister and delivers a platform for Toronto's hip-hop fans to shine.
