  • It's been said by some that the Commandment "Thou Shalt Not Kill" prohibits a "Believer" from arming themselves. But this simply isn't true. If it were, the above verses would be in contradiction, and YHVH ("G-d") never contradicts Himself. A simple study into the writing of the Bible in Hebrew offers an explanation.
    Exodus 20:13 states, "Thou shalt not kill". The Word used in Hebrew for "kill" here is "ratsach" which specifically means "murder". To murder and to kill are two different things. Murder is premeditated, wrongful taking of life. Killing applies in self-defense.
