Almost 3 months ago a friend told me that I should focus on writing new material instead of recording better versions of old songs. Turned out he was right and since then I've finished writing a new 5 track EP which will be available in December.
For a while now I've been hesitant to write songs about myself as I've always favoured the storytelling approach but (without boring you to death) I've really enjoyed writing about different experiences, most of which regretable, but I think paint a pretty interesting picture of the ups and downs of my year. I really hope you like it and I'll keep you posted about the release date.

Some of you might of heard the Henry Homesweet song Until I Sleep. If you haven't already I was lucky enough to record a vocal on it last week. Since then I've been so tempted to sell my guitar and buy a game boy. You can listen to the song at www.myspace.com/henryhomesweet.
Hooray for Henry!

It's about time I let the people know that Maurice Smith has unfortunately had
to leave His Flying Machine as he sadly lost both his arms in a tragic ironing
accident. But seriously he’s moving back to Cambridge after graduating and I
wish him all the very best in his future endeavours! He's a brilliant musician
and I will really miss playing with him. If you’d like to hear more of his
music you can listen at www.myspace.com/mauricesmithmusic.
On a brighter note I’ve finished writing the Quietly Does It EP. Some of the songs
you might recognise but the majority have been written quite recently. The only
problem is I can’t even afford rent at the moment let alone enough money to use
a studio. Still the plan is to keep writing and in the mean time record rough
demos to keep the ball rolling!
Big thanks to all the listeners, for their kind words and support. I’ve never taken
my music that seriously but to know that people are enjoying it makes it all worth
while.
