| General | Politics, blogging, reading, some writing, hungrily devouring new music and watching independent/quirky and classic film. I adore Cary Grant and know more about him than a normal person should. I also love to be outdoors, especially on and near Wisconsin's beautiful lakes. I like to ride my bike and just be outside. I finally started fulfilling a lifelong dream last fall when I started Russian lessons...just for fun. | | Music | I love music of almost all types. I am a lyrics fan- give me a good lyric and the music takes a bit of a backseat. Combine the two, and you've got me as a fan for life. (see PFR, Barenaked Ladies, Nick Cave, et al.) But, I also love music that just makes you feel good but doesn't necessarily "mean" anything. (ergo my penchant for 40s swing, the Rat Pack and Motown.)
Favorite Entertainers: PFR (my all time favorite), U2, Zwan, Muse, Barenaked Ladies, Nick Cave, Michael Nesmith, 30 Odd Foot of Grunts, Billy Corgan (solo), Johnny Cash, Joel Hanson (solo) | | Movies | I love independent and classic film- give me something original OR something when sex was all about innuendo and leaving it up to your imagination. My favorite movie of all time is HOLIDAY (1938) with Cary Grant, but I like just about any Cary Grant movie he made from about 1936-1945. Other favorite classic films are My Fair Lady, The Apartment, It Happened One Night, The Best Years of our Lives, To Kill a Mockingbird and too many others to mention. My favorite modern actor is Russell Crowe, and my favorite modern movie is The Big Lebowski, dude. Other favorites: Napoleon Dynamite, Capote, Gladiator, both Ghostbuster movies, American Beauty and too many others to mention. | | Television | Kill your television. Do it now. | | Books | I like to read history, biography and politics. | | Heroes | Is this starting to degenerate into one of those cheesy chain-email type things?
OK if I have to name a category, my heroes are those people that dare to still love after excruciating loss or heartbreak. That is what life is all about. |
