Hello and welcome to " chalky's " myspace. I'm from the UK. A DJ and promoter on the northern soul scene. I've been into this wonderful music from the age of 12yrs when i came across some 45s from my brother's collection. I got more involved into the music when i started hanging out with a group of mods from Birmingham and going to the outrigger on a Saturday afternoon , really proud i was a mod! and yes thats where i got my nick name Chalky from.
I Consider myself young enough on today's Northern soul scene to take the music into the future with promoting northern soul venue's in the uk and also working with Detroit artist's like The motown Group " The Elgin's" who I act on behalf for them as there UK Booking agent / Manager and hopefully writing and producing some new recording's with them. I Have also hopefully reformed another group from Detroit " The Fabulous peps " and very much looking to bring this group over to the uk. the music and the soul always came frist with us, there were a lot of hangers on, but i knew youd keep the faith, and dont worry about me keepin the faith, im just startin to hit the allnighters again, it just takes me a week to recover and i wont do the wizz anymore, lol.
im well into my funk and disco now as well, so i look for nighters with a 70s room..i hope to see you soon, if i come up there, or you come down here..ill keep you informed of nights.
hi chalky hows it going are you going to the weekender this year have you been busy or is it quiet there is not much going on down here i went to a mod do sat night it was ok but missed george mcrae at salon reunion got the shades reunion comeing up then the weekender and a few scootering dos but not as much as i like to go to i want alnighters and one day my dream to go to hitsville and motown studios and visit my friends pat lewis and chuck davis
