Allow us to introduce you to DJs Hiz n’ Herz, one of the freshest male/female collaborations to hit the house music scene.
Made up of an unlikely duo, Chanel Cochrane (DJ Chen) and Tyrone Goodliffe (Tyrone Life), this pair has set their hearts and minds on educating the masses with their special house music sound. Already lovers of a wide variety of the house that makes us bounce, you can expect them to play what’s dropping hot in the genres of US house, tech, minimal and hopefully, if the nation is ready, Detroit techno.
Both originating from South Africa, a country passionate about house music, DJ Chen and Tyrone Life already share a mutual love of artists that include the likes of Troydon, DJ Sneak, Jessie Rose, Lawnchair Generals, The Sound Republic, Justin V and DJ Heather, just to name a few. But they also know that in this day and age it’s not just which artists you like to hear, it’s how you can make people dance!
Tyrone Life has played for 5 years, and found himself so inspired by the DJs he heard in his teenage clubbing years he promptly purchased his own little set up. He played for Dirtydubbin since 2006, and even joined them in Ibiza in 2007. DJ Chen has always been passionate about music, but in her 5 yrs of playing, grew tired of the hard house scene where she played for Torque, and wanted to hear something with more soul.
The pair joined forces in 2008, and the rest as they say, is history.
Hiz n’ Herz have already rocked a session on the respected Chicago House FM and wowed the crowds at a few Dirtydubbin gigs. Add a few well-downloaded DJ demo mixes proving that their instincts are just starting to pay off, and you have a cocktail of fun just waiting to be mixed. For them, house music represents everything that can go right in life, like love, togetherness and the happy times!
