About me:
H.L. Groen (also known as Heather) is a visual artist residing in Windsor, Connecticut with her musician husband Eric and their delightful daughter, Sophie. Heather has earned a Bachelor’s degree of Fine Arts from the Art Institute of Boston as well as a Master of Arts degree in Holistic Thinking from the Graduate Institute. She is an art educator, and has been instructing young students in Hartford, CT for the past seven years. Heather has been creating art for over a decade with an emphasis on portraiture. She imbues each painting with passion, and takes great pleasure in the act (so she assures). Her images are filled with expression, bold colors, and dominant, wistful, strokes that infuse the works with life and energy. Heather's paintings and drawings allow her to explore her place in the world. Her artwork is a product of individual personal growth, awareness of her identity and her journey to seek truth in herself and in others. H.L. has surmised that the creative process for her is a type of therapy and a natural high; a reward for the mind that requires incessant feeding.
